Am I the only one who could willingly throttle the kidult in the Tesco ad ?

JackyB Mon 28-Dec-15 11:10:21

I love the way he gets his come-uppance. That's one for Mums, surely! It wouldn't make me go and buy at Tesco's, though.

Ha Ha! Prat indeed! I agree

petra Fri 25-Dec-15 12:47:51

At least its Xmas day so I hopefully won't have to see or hear the prat anymore.

wotanuisanceABC123 Thu 24-Dec-15 21:36:04

He is absolutely repulsive .

Candelle Thu 24-Dec-15 15:22:58

It is growing on me..... I quite enjoy the fact that this is 'different'.

I suppose when sitting around a table in an advertising agency in June, it must be difficult to come up with something original - and good!

It's meant to be silly and over-the-top. I think it's quite funny, but then I haven't got a very sophisticated sense of humour.

Kittycat, no he hasn't, he is just a prat as another poster said.

Our local Tesco does employ young people with special needs and they are very helpful indeed.

Kittycat Wed 23-Dec-15 21:16:27

Having read through this and noticed comments about the boy in the Tesco ad having 'special needs', I then read previous comments about the ad. I just want to say please don't put that twit in the same category as young people with real special needs. I know I am biased as my son age 21 has special needs (AspergersSyndrome and OCD) but like a lot of other young people like him, he is not as stupid as that.

I did a last minute shop in Tesco yesterday, but saw no special, extra, " colleagues" to help with locating items.

I don't think the poor lad is actually showing signs of special needs;
but , like many teenagers, he is just trying out a new persona - that of some rapper, disk spinner or beat-boxer.
He's trying, just a little too hard, to be whatever is the latest term for what my teenagers used to call a, "cool dude."

You are right Petra it's an awful ad.

Nelliemoser Tue 22-Dec-15 23:46:29

As a bad advert it could sort of imply that if you go into Tesco's to shop you might encounter creeps like them. Tesco's are in enough business trouble as it is.

etheltbags1 Tue 22-Dec-15 23:02:25

this lad hasn't got special needs he is just a bit of a nerd and being a pest. In real life I would remove myself from the shop double quick. I have seen much worse ads

tigerhouse Tue 22-Dec-15 22:54:39

being a cat owner my favorite ad is " mog " from sainbury"s .

ninathenana Tue 22-Dec-15 11:41:05

He comes across even more as possible special needs in the one where he's sent off to find GF food and comes back with a light bulb.
I hadn't realised I'd seen them when I posted earlier.
Definitely the worst Christmas ad.

Nelliemoser Tue 22-Dec-15 10:35:14

Petra No I can't stand either of the oily gits. There is something nasty about them.

Lona Tue 22-Dec-15 10:08:47

I think it's funny too, just a gormless, horny teenage boy!

Antjexix Tue 22-Dec-15 10:00:06

I think it's quite funny, the boy reminds me of my stepson and it always makes DH and me chuckle.

Anniebach Tue 22-Dec-15 09:52:19

Hadn't seen it untill Jingle's link, can't see any link with a person with special needs , just shows a prat

Maggiemaybe Tue 22-Dec-15 09:51:58

Just watched it. I don't think it's that bad, just a bit of fun. Reminds me of when a very cultured German friend of ours asked DH which English cheese he'd recommend and he said his favourite was Cheddar, the bright orange one. He's not special needs either, honestly. tchgrin

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 22-Dec-15 09:23:52

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 22-Dec-15 09:05:04

Maggiemaybe Tue 22-Dec-15 08:50:09

I've never seen it. Just realised how much of what I watch these days is recorded, adverts skipped.
