Presents to nieces/nephews' children

I have lots of nieces and nephews and they all have multiple children. Owing to distance (and some live in Canada) we rarely see them. Once they were 18 we stopped presents to nieces and nephews. I sent birth presents to their children. Should I now send birthday and Christmas presents to all of them?
I am pretty reluctant to continue as the ones I have sent to never get confirmation never mind a thank you.
I'd appreciate the opinion of other Grans....

I have never bought presents for the children of nieces and nephews, beyond the customary birth congratulations present. I think that is really taking things a step too far, to be honest! I used to buy for the nieces and nephews themselves but, like you, stopped this at age 18. Virtually all of my nieces and nephews live at the other end of the country and I haven't even seen most of their children. They certainly wouldn't have a clue who 'Great Aunt x and Great Uncle y are!

Unless you are close to any of them, I wouldn't. It was nice to send something when they were born, but I doubt if anything else will be expected.

We send to nephews two children but not nephew and wife or BiL and SiL. SiL sends to our DGC.
We are a small family and these are our only presents other than immediate family.

Birth presents definitely. After that no - and if you have never had a thank-you then NO!
