DH has just received a bogus HMRC e mail from their 'repayment' dept.

It was sent to his company e mail and we suspect would ask for bank details to make the payment. Binned it and then cleared the bin!

Just to warn others.

HMRC only contact you by letter never emails

Oh! are they at it again? I had about three of these within the space of 4 years, and then they stopped. The really worrying thing about them was that they quoted the exact rebate I had already received from HMRC, and one wonders how they knew that amount. One mad morning when I opened the e-mail box, I started filling in the questions asked, then suddenly realised I was being an idiot, so quickly deleted and cleared the e-mail from the list.

I have been receiving e-mails purporting to come from BT claiming that there is an issue with my direct debit and, of course, asking me to update my bank details. Needless to say it was binned.

Me too from BT. Then one I think is real.....no details do I ever give

I recognize the dodgy e-mails from 'BT' because they always use the word 'ommit'. Otherwise the messages look authentic and it would be easy to be tricked into responding to them.
