Better answer for 12. Not a cock - Ladybird Lady_Bird.

Ana Sat 19-Dec-15 12:49:31

I think that as separate words have been indicated in the clues it would have been (1,7) for 'a chicken'.

Think you're right about sparrow though - good one! tchsmile

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 19-Dec-15 12:45:49

12. A chicken? Or would that only count as 9 or 7?

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 19-Dec-15 12:34:37

Could 11 Fight and argue be Sparrow Spar_Row?

Bellanonna Sat 19-Dec-15 12:24:28

Re no 17, high jinx. I've been thinking hard about this one. A rather tenuous answer could be the wryneck. 'High' seems to suggest a bird anyway. The wryneck is a type of ground feeding woodpecker, coming here on migration in the autumn. I looked it up and it is associated with putting a jinx on something. So a possibility...?
Could we please have the animals?

chelseababy Sat 19-Dec-15 11:58:25
