Just bought one of these for my GS - it is so nostalgic! Anyone else remember these? smile

Greyduster Wed 09-Dec-15 11:23:51

I looked on ebay last night at the camper vans - got very nostalgic. Now about five years too late sad.

Katek Wed 09-Dec-15 11:15:52

Dd2 had the little FP radio which played 'Raindrops keep falling on my head' over and over and over...and over.............!

Katek Wed 09-Dec-15 11:14:18

I have the teapot-found it sitting on the ground next to village recycling bins. I took it home and cleaned it up and bought the little people/furniture on eBay. Dgc loved it!

Luckygirl Wed 09-Dec-15 11:11:22

You stay off ebay rose - I want them!!

ninathenana Wed 09-Dec-15 11:07:15

roseq I was going to ask if anyone remembered the 'big yellow tea pot' I saw it advertised last week, I didn't know they still made them.
DD had the TV too and pull along phone but DGC have now outgrown them.

rosequartz Wed 09-Dec-15 10:36:58

sad
They are for sale on ebay but we have a houseful of toys - again!

Indinana Wed 09-Dec-15 10:29:48

You're not having mine!

rosequartz Wed 09-Dec-15 10:27:05

I want another camper!!

Indinana Tue 08-Dec-15 23:22:05

And now, of course, I just want to go on eBay and buy all these vintage toys for my GC, haha!

rosequartz Tue 08-Dec-15 22:55:18

We have a little brown and white dog with a clacker which DGD loves pulling round (donation from friend whose children had grown out of it). He is minus a tail but she loves him.

We used to have a Big Yellow Tea Pot as well.

Indinana Tue 08-Dec-15 22:27:30

The words of 'Row, row, row your boat' have always, in our house, ended with 'Life is buttercream'.
It is one of my 5 month old GD's favourite songs and now she's learning that ending too, oh dear grin

Indinana Tue 08-Dec-15 22:11:37

had a clacker.... (please delete the word 'such' lol!)

We still have our Play Family Camper with the boat - alas no people though sad. I wish we still had the Play Family House, and the Play Desk. My DS had the little tip up truck, which operated by squeezing a bulb at the end of a rubber tube (the tube also acted as the 'pull along'). This little truck had such a clacker attached to one of the wheels, so that as DS ran about the house pulling it behind him, the clacking sound got faster and faster and was very loud. Very annoying. I waited till he was in bed one night and doctored the dratted thing blush.

Did anyone else have the street that opened up with a bridge joining both bits with lots of different shops! Obviously, the dentist was the most exciting bit for us.

We had the garage and donated it to the optician's waiting room. It's still there and I want it back!

Greyduster Tue 08-Dec-15 20:14:32

DD had the Fisher Price record player, but the favourite, most played with, was the camper van the boat on top! I was really sorry we didn't keep that. I've never seen another one. Weren't Fisher Price just the sturdiest, almost indestructible toys?

The FP record player was my eldest daughter's very favourite toy. I recently found one in a charity shop, it didn't work but I gave it to my daughter to remind her of her early years.
We had lots of Fp's excellent toys, the Big Wheel was another favourite.
Remember the Tree House? That wasn't FP but it seemed every child had one.

DS2 had a FP radio which played Hickory Dickory Dock. He nearly drove the nurses crazy when he was in hospital at the age of 2, winding it up in the middle of the night. I think it may be in my loft.

Luckygirl Tue 08-Dec-15 19:23:51

And the little wooden dachshund with the spring tail!

Alima Tue 08-Dec-15 18:56:44

.....nearly forgot the Ferris wheel!

Alima Tue 08-Dec-15 18:56:13

We had kept several FP toys in the loft for the grandchildren. Their favourite is the hospital which is still played with and the lift still works!

J52 Tue 08-Dec-15 18:56:12

I saw a FP record player in t Museum of Childhood, last week. It was one of the things I commented on! If anyone gets a chance do go,it's full of nostalga!

'life is gup a dream!'
Actually, kitty DD was grown up before she realised there was no such thing as a 'butter dream'

rosequartz Tue 08-Dec-15 18:50:51

Gasp!! The Camper Van, yes, yes! DD1 loved it, she would play with it and the little people for ages.
We have the Fisher Price house passed on by a kind neighbour and I bought some people for it, the DGDs love it.

kittylester Tue 08-Dec-15 18:50:39

Actually it's 'life is gup a dream!'

loopylou Tue 08-Dec-15 18:50:26

Seriously nostalgic for old FP, it was indestructible.
The pull along phone, garage, record player, bath whatsit that stuck to the side with plastic suckers, a zoo train.
How I wish I'd kept them tchhmm
