I bought a selection of charity Christmas cards and as I've been writing them, I was wondering - do the charities get together and say 'OK, we did Christmas trees last year, so this year we'll do the 12 days of Christmas and you do Christmas trees and so on'. Do they do the rounds of designs?

They are all different from the charities I selected this year, trees, robins, religious, penguins, 12 days of Christmas etc.

I have chosen a blue theme. Why? do you ask... they're all going to different recipients so why chose a theme Bought them at the local church, had to dash in and out as they were filming the next series of Poldark..... tempted to linger

We always buy our cards in the January sale, when they are half-price (or less). So whatever design didn't sell very well last Christmas is what we'll be sending this year.

I went to get some cards today from a local hospice charity shop. There were quite a few with Christmas trees on. I settled for wise men! The ones I really wanted had a reproduction of a painting by a local artist of our city centre in the fifties, with a cinema my dad used to take me to, and the sweet shop next door where a small box of Black Magic chocs to share was a special treat! But they didn't have any left .

Let's hope that someone sends you one of those Greyduster, then you can keep it.

Surely lots of cards are going to feature Christmas trees? 'tis a common theme and all that.

7th card today,. Not one has a Christmas tree. There is a snowy pine tree scene but that's it. The others have robins, a postbox, a dove and a Victorian scene. Still, should be quite a few more to come.... Meanwhile must find mine and write them. The usual procrastination has taken hold...

I've written most of them but there is a large pile waiting for letters which haven't yet been written.

I know I had a ew left last year, and am hoping to find them, as I bought my cards, and on doing my list find that I`m 2 short.

All written and sent. Buy all the same so no decisions needed.

No body has mentioned Nativity scenes for their Christmas cards??

Oh well I'll mention it then. I've got 20 nativity scenes and the rest are assorted wintery pictures. Now for some determined writing. Later.

Always buy charity cards and always with a Nativity scene, or dove of peace.
Never buy ones that say Seasons Greetings!! AAgghh!

Boring old grump that's me!

I like prefer nativity scenes, but find it hard to see those that I really like, I have let the other half choose this year as he always leaves it to me, hence we have a varied assortment, difficult when I am using the computer to address the envelopes, never mind he did his best.

You are right there are a lot of Christmas tree ones in the shops this year. I bought a few 'nice' Moorcroft cards and the rest mainly cat themed charity ones.

We've had several so far and none with a tree!!

I bought some very nice charity ones and they say 'Season's Greeting' inside so I have carefully written Merry Christmas and Happy New year as my greeting.
Only one pack though!
