Leading on from first records you bought, songs that make you cry, songs that make you dance etc. How about a game of guess the title of a song and the singer, from a single line of lyrics? try not to Google, but guess it, more fun.Whoever is correct first, does the next one.

So, mine is
There she was, just a walkin' down the street.........

TriciaF Fri 06-Nov-15 14:33:40

Sorry Indinana - crossed posts.

Indinana Fri 06-Nov-15 14:35:12

Oh, sorry TriciaF, just pipped you... Yours is Bridge over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkle I think.

trisher Fri 06-Nov-15 15:38:08

It's "A Taste of Honey" but can't think who sang it

kittylester Fri 06-Nov-15 15:49:33

The Beatles among many others.

'There was fog crawling over the sand'

Katek Fri 06-Nov-15 19:12:36

Ok-must be the only ageing hippy on GN! It's Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb.

How about "His folks were always putting him down"

rosequartz Fri 06-Nov-15 19:16:49

'A Taste of Honey' - I remember the film with Rita Tushingham

rosequartz Fri 06-Nov-15 19:18:25

Katek it could be that you are younger than quite a few of us grin

The soundtrack to the film A Taste of Honey was by Herb Alpert

rosequartz Fri 06-Nov-15 19:20:48

Oh, am I supposed to be on the line of lyrics thread?

Ana Fri 06-Nov-15 19:33:18

wotanuisanceABC123 Fri 06-Nov-15 19:57:27

rosequartz Fri 06-Nov-15 20:01:25

grin
No, a more mainstream couple from the 70s

Ana Fri 06-Nov-15 20:02:39

Oh, The Carpenters, yes!

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft thingy...

rosequartz Fri 06-Nov-15 20:05:56

Yes! Amazed someone got it!

DD used to sing it, she was about 3 or 4 at the time!
Also Don't cry for me, Argentina

We could only afford a couple of LPs at the time - so I chose this one! DH chose Tony Bennett who I thought was very boring, but now I appreciate him!

NanKate Fri 06-Nov-15 20:44:51

How about this one.

I see the little silhouette of a man

wotanuisanceABC123 Fri 06-Nov-15 20:54:16

Is it Bohemian Rapsodey by Queen! I apologise for spelling of it!

wotanuisanceABC123 Fri 06-Nov-15 20:55:24

How about....in the chilly hours and minutes....
