Do you have any secrets from your other half?

Reason I'm asking is in an effort to be healthy I've recently started putting half soya mince (the rest usual beef) in with our regular bolognese. OH hasn't noticed but would likely turn his nose up if he knew! grin

Jaxie - you're just teasing us. Bad for the blood pressure

Think your about right Nonnie, no real secrets, but we DHs only say those things to keep DW think they have their secrets !!

Evedmh Thu 29-Oct-15 19:00:35

Yes please Jaxie. Do Tell!

Luckygirl Thu 29-Oct-15 18:57:59

Would we like to know? - we certainly would!

rubysong Thu 29-Oct-15 18:34:56

Do tell Jaxie.

aggie Thu 29-Oct-15 18:13:46

oooooooooo ???????????

Jaxie Thu 29-Oct-15 18:05:38

For goodness sake: let's have a bit of drama. Would you like to know what I did to get revenge on my husband's mistress ( he still doesn't know!).

Indinana Thu 29-Oct-15 11:36:06

Oh I can't agree with you there, ginny - a little 'mystery' is surely necessary to keep a relationship on its toes. 100% openness would leave nothing to the imagination, nothing to keep the OH guessing wink

Only 'nice' ones like presents and the like.

Surely keeping secrets (maybe another word for telling lies ? ) is no way to conduct a close relationship.

Judthepud2 Wed 28-Oct-15 19:54:55

Yes. Unfortunately. In relation to DD3 problems as she asks me not to worry him with some of the worst stuff. Don't like this.... But they aren't my secrets.

Anya Wed 28-Oct-15 18:02:30

Ditto

chloe1984 Wed 28-Oct-15 17:43:28

Plenty and they need to stay that way

rosesarered Wed 28-Oct-15 16:43:12

Yes, I do, but have no intention of revealing them here.

grin

riverwalk because he hasn't a clue about the price of food and clothes, but loves nice things. I resent paying a lot of money for a 'label', so start out buying cheaper items as a sort of test to see whether he really can tell the difference. If he can, then fair enough, but usually he can't. Why pay £3.99 for a bag of coffee beans when a £1.99 bag from Aldi is just as good?

When he goes shopping for anything, he will only go to Sainsbury's or Waitrose - I am happy to rummage about all over the place.

When I bought a new camera a couple of years ago I didn't tell my husband how much it cost - I just couldn't face the "HOW MUCH???" conversation thlgrin.
But secrets always find a way to bite you on the proverbial. We were out one day enjoying the sunshine on a stroll around Teignmouth. I kept stopping to take photos (DH is used to this, just leans on the railings and gazes out to sea, or finds a comfortable bench somewhere and gets out his Kindle). As we walked along, a fellow stopped and asked me about the camera as he was thinking of buying a similar model. We chatted for a while as I went through the various features and compared them with the model he was interested in. Then he said "Do you mind me asking how much you paid for it?" thlshockthlshockthlshock. There was no way out. I told him the price. My husband said "HOW MUCH???"

I don't because I HATE having things kept from me.

Nonnie Wed 28-Oct-15 10:00:41

I don't think so but there are things he doesn't know about before we met. I think he thinks I had a much wilder time than I actually did.

Mostly I don't bother to tell him things which wouldn't interest him.

It seems most of the above issues are to do with money but that is something we never disagree about as he leaves it all to me. Maybe that is because we have always only ever had a joint bank account so no 'his' or 'hers'. I suspect he still thinks you can buy a pair of shoes for 59/11 so accepts that all clothes shopping is beyond him!

I even told him about an ex-boyfriend who has tracked me down and is now a Facebook friend. No point in keeping secrets from him, trust is really important to us both.

Sorry to be serious about a flippant thread.

Have a lovely time jingl!

Teetime Wed 28-Oct-15 09:50:55

Oh yes but I cant say what or it wouldn't be a secret anymore.

whitewave Wed 28-Oct-15 09:25:16

jing and megrin

M0nica Wed 28-Oct-15 09:23:41

One area where I have no secrets, is over what I buy, birthday and Christmas run-ups the temporary exceptions.

I have always earned my own income, paid for my own pension, state and occupational, so once I have set aside my transfer to the household funds the rest is mine to spend as I like - and the same applies to DH.

Alea Wed 28-Oct-15 09:04:46

Just laughing because this thread has come up right next to the "Have you bought anything new this week" onegrin
Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more!

annsixty Wed 28-Oct-15 08:53:51

Like M0nica always have, but as his memory span is now measured in minutes I no longer have to bother and a great relief that part of Alzheimer's is! I assure you there is the odd light moment.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 28-Oct-15 08:39:58

I am off to Barcelona with DD2 today. DH has no idea how much we paid for our (Business Class shock) tickets, or for the very well reviewed hotel we will be staying in.

(Actually, I don't think he'd really mind if he did know. But there would be the mandatory grumble)

M0nica Wed 28-Oct-15 08:33:42

Of course I do.
