Anyone want to go to hear this with me at Queen's Hall in Edinburgh on 20 December?

Spect we'd need to buy tickets pronto.

Marelli Mon 26-Oct-15 19:38:29

Same here, bags - would you like me to send you a cheque or whatever?

Elegran Mon 26-Oct-15 19:31:58

Do you want the money now or on the night ? And are we going to meet early for a quick bite to eat?

thatbags Mon 26-Oct-15 19:25:01

Centre and rear stalls £20.

thatbags Mon 26-Oct-15 19:23:36

Another excuse (as if we needed one) to have some fun another time!

I'm about to do the ticket order for five of us. There is a small 'concession' for senior citizens. Do I take it you all qualify for that?

Marelli Mon 26-Oct-15 10:49:37

Marmight sent me a message. She's away just now and isn't able to get GN where she is. She asked me to tell you that she would love to join us, but she'll be away at that time.

Elegran my DH will be the chauffeur and he will get a small reward for driving us home wine

Elizabeth1 Mon 26-Oct-15 10:23:27

Just been speaking to the chauffeur again and he'd be happy to take 2-3 folks to the station and then come back for us. We could have a wee drink perhaps while we're waiting for him. Does this sound feasible?

Elegran Mon 26-Oct-15 10:19:01

A taxi rank for lifts to heaven - that would be a business opportunity for someone.

Elegran Mon 26-Oct-15 10:17:14

Thank you, Elizabeth1. That would be great. If you come by car, where would you plan to park? It isn't easy!

It is those getting trains who could be most pushed for time. I can offer a bed for the night if you need one.

Elizabeth1 Mon 26-Oct-15 10:15:40

Elegran we would be passing your house on the way home so it would be no problem for us to drop you off - I've just spoken to the chauffeur smile

Marelli Mon 26-Oct-15 10:13:54

I would prefer the evening performance, really. Elizabeth1 and I will take in a bit of the Christmas atmosphere before heading up to the Messiah in a taxi (bet that's never been done before grin!
No worries, though, if the general consensus is the afternoon version, as we'll maybe just get our own tickets sorted for the evening. smile

Elizabeth1 Mon 26-Oct-15 10:11:57

Hi everyone - I would prefer the evening event and Marelli and I would have time to have a browse around the city with all its lights beforehand - so exciting for us. Elegran you could have a lift home with us if you like.

Elegran Mon 26-Oct-15 09:39:28

The children's version is OK by me, with a meal after it. Of course, we could have a meal before the later one, but we'd have to fight the crowds coming out for buses to the station.

Maybe Jane10 would settle for the 45 minute version?

thatbags Mon 26-Oct-15 09:18:09

Righto, shall sort tickets later today. marelli, thanks for alerting me to possible problems getting back to Argyll too! The last train I can catch will be 2230 as well.

List so far then:
Marelli
Elizabeth1
Elegran
Baubles
Me

There is a 45-minute so-called children's version (no age limit!) at 4pm. Would anyone prefer that?

Of course I'm being serious! Then we could have dinner out and not be home too late grin

I have a commitment at an oasis this morning. Later, dudes....

dunit, see you soon, I hope! S'been ages!

Marelli Mon 26-Oct-15 09:10:12

All's sorted! I'll be there. It was getting back to Fife that was the problem, as the last train is 10.30pm, but Elizabeth1's lovely DH is coming to Edinburgh for us (bless 'im emoticon)! smile Please can you sort out a ticket for me, as well bags? Let me know how to pay you?

Elegran Mon 26-Oct-15 08:50:49

Marelli - there are lots of buses from Waverley to the Queens Hall.

BiNtHeReDuNiT14 Mon 26-Oct-15 07:20:46

Sorry thatbags have just seen this......changed provider and it has been more of a hassle than I thought!!! so have been incommunicado. Would have loved it but already have plans for that day. Hope you enjoy it as I am sure you will.

Marelli Mon 26-Oct-15 06:29:50

Oops - I'm having to hover over this one, now. Not sure about transport as I've just seen that the concert's at 7pm on the Sun night, and it's a long way from Waverley. I'll get back to you before 10'ish this morning, bags, and let you know for sure, if that's OK?

Marelli Mon 26-Oct-15 05:58:45

Have been away for a couple of days, and hadn't seen this till Elizabeth1 messaged me (during the night shock)!
Yes please - count me in.
Let me know how you'd like me to pay you, bags?

Elizabeth1 Mon 26-Oct-15 04:40:51

Thatbags please count me in and send details of how to send payment to you. Sound great fun - sorry I haven't managed recent trips into Edinburgh - retirement has been so busy.

Elegran Sun 25-Oct-15 08:59:17

The bench seats in the Queens Hall are very unyielding.

thatbags Sun 25-Oct-15 06:44:33

Three so far. I'm going to order tickets VERY SOON (tomorrow) because I think it will be sold out quickly.

thatbags Sun 25-Oct-15 06:33:30

We'll have to plan something else (as well!) at a time when you can come, hildajj. Keep us posted about times when it's more likely you can come along smile

Jane10 Sun 25-Oct-15 06:21:24

Hilda do you work for Santa? Are you an actual elf? How exciting!
Sorry thatbags Handels not for me.

hildajenniJ Sat 24-Oct-15 23:14:28

I would have loved to go, but I am afraid I can't have holiday in December.sad The company I work for are very unyielding on this issue.
