Is the whole of the country grey and overcast? I have not seen the sun for three days. It's really miserable.

Quince jelly, quince cheese, for two.

Hello everyone from south Leicestershire. I have just been given some quinces all the way from France. Any ideas, apart from a pie?

Good morning everyone from a grey and dull East Northants. Enjoy Sunday.

Good morning, uniformly grey this morning and it was very chilly first thing. Thank goodness we got thermostat replaced, it is a remote one and DH dropped it on the floor and broke it the other day. That is the second remote we have to buy in less than a year, I wish he would pick a room and just leave it there instead of carrying it upstairs.

Morning all,
Dull and chilly today in Devon. Think I'm going to have to turn the fire, brrr.
We still have our DS's dog with us, which means our DD won't be coming for Sunday lunch as she usually does, as she doesn't like leaving her own dog for too long and the two of them together here is just mayhem!! DS is home this evening, so we'll be dog free then for about 4 days until he goes away again with his two boys for a week.
I have a recipe somewhere for a herb pâté using courgettes, SloeGinny I'm sure I could find it if you're interested. It is really tasty!
Happy Sunday everyone smile

A bit of a grey day here in the Tees Valley, but dry and not cold.

I made a batch of chutney with excess tomatoes and apples yesterday and ran out of jars, so will have to sterilise some more. DH has just announced that there are loads more courgettes ready - oh dear!

Sorry - the casserole makes just enough for two. But I suppose I could buy a bigger slow cooker.....

kittylester Sun 18-Oct-15 09:27:43

Morning all.

It is grey and overcast in North Leics this morning but there is no rain in the forecast. We still have 2 DGDs here and yesterday we used them as child labour to pick up our crab apples Pitt - shall I send them to you - they made quite a good job of it! grin I'm making a chicken casserole for dinner as we have 6 adults and 4 children expecting to be fed at 5pm - unless you have any casserole to spare left?

Enjoy your days. sunshine

Good morning everyone.
It's a bright, sunny start to the day in Tynedale. For the first time this Autumn we have frost on the windows, which is now just condensation outside. It is definitely chilly though. Son coming for lunch. What I'll make with diced pork is a mystery at present, I will have to think about it!
Have a lovely day all.

A bit grey here in South Wales. Early start (for a Sunday) for me as I have to drive to Chieveley Services (in Berkshire) to pick up my 100-y-o father who has been staying with my late brother's family in Kent for a few weeks. Chieveley is as close as we can get to half-way between South Wales and North Kent. My sister-in-law will bring him that far then I bring him the rest of the way home.

But before I go I have to prepare a beef-in-beer casserole which will go in the slow cooker. By the time I get back from my father's it will be just about ready.

Dull and grey and forecast to stay that way all day. It is mild for October though here N Kent.
Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.
