Bitchin' or Banter?

I have "lurked" on Gransnet for a while and I am astonished at the amount of bitching going on here mainly amongst the usual crew of regular posters. Or is is just banter? I realise that political threads can get heated but even the lighter subjects often become littered with rude and sometimes very nasty comments. Or am I just too sensitive? Maybe this the norm on forums, even those for the more mature. I am new to this so don't know.

granjura j'aime les accents, mais mon clavier ne se conformera pas sur gransnet

rosesarered Wed 07-Oct-15 23:08:42

Though I suppose they are old fellers now.

rosequartz Wed 07-Oct-15 23:07:44

(that was to rosequartz, btw)
Lona wanted someone to answer her post, so when I saw it I did.
I know what it's like to be ignored ..... wink
Or to end a thread

rosesarered Wed 07-Oct-15 23:07:13

Your Mum had great taste, I laughed a bit at them back then, but would probably like them now, fine upstandin' young Irish fellers that they are.

Ana Wed 07-Oct-15 23:05:13

Oh dear yes - sorry rosequartz! blush

rosequartz Wed 07-Oct-15 23:04:08

Hands up, who actually liked The Bachelors?
My mum did

I am only just catching up with this thread so excuse my posts repeating what people have already said.

rosesarered Wed 07-Oct-15 22:59:58

Are we all drunk?

rosequartz Wed 07-Oct-15 22:59:51

granjura I read those books, had to wait years for sequels to be written. They started off brilliantly, then got more and more turgid and boring by the last mammoth grin book.

Isn't there a song called 'Ramona'
I keep humming it now. It was lovely, sung by Jim Reeves as I remember.
There is a line about roses in it too
grin

Ana Wed 07-Oct-15 22:55:30

Lona, you are my Best Friend! smile

janerowena Wed 07-Oct-15 22:54:47

Lona grin

Ana Wed 07-Oct-15 22:53:51

(that was to rosequartz, btw)

Ana Wed 07-Oct-15 22:52:38

No I won't. I was actually praising someone for only posting in anger when she felt it was warranted, rather than leaping into the fray just for the sake of it!

janerowena Wed 07-Oct-15 22:52:38

Never mind - I Love You All! (Said in my best dramatic voice)

It would be a bit syrupy and boring if people were too scared to say what they really think, surely.
