Mum's 98 & has Alzheimer's. There's my oldest brother then my sister then me. My brother has always been mum's favourite. As sisters we tease him, of course, but it's hard sometimes. I really hope that she remembers us til the end tho.

Daughter not allowed to know new baby’s name until she visits him


Only one of my brothers has children and then only one. It was only recently that Mum started being proud of mine but only for the reflected glory, as in ' I have 6 grandchildren, 5 of them my daughter's and I've got 6 greatgrandchildren'.

I don't feel more for my sons than my daughters. I have different favourites depending on who is irritating me least at any given moment!!
(Could it just be that mothers do feel something special about sons?
