I am so glad I posted this! All positives which is great. I was brought up in Lancashire and though I haven't lived there for a very long time we have visited the area regularly. DH comes from Middlesbrough so not far from there also. We have lot's of family - though not our Children - in the area. So cochrane I already know how friendly you are I have to say it's one of the attractions smile
We have danced in the Tower ballroom - before DH had knee problems. I am excited about the move and hope that our experience of moving around with the services - albeit a long time ago now - will help us.
So thank you for your good advice Masseytruth I will keep you all informed of our progress. smile

Sure you will love Lytham. Good mix of properties and prices. Near to motorway networks and Manchester airport for your long haul flights. Half an hour from magnificent walking in the Lake District. Good mix of shops and public transport. I think you will find everything you need there and if you like ballroom dancing you are handy for Blackpool towers magnificent ballroom. Come up to the north west and suss us out. We are very friendly.

Much of moving related stress comes from managing all of the logistics, like leaving your current home, and finding a new one. Keep to do lists for both your departure and arrival locations so that you can stay on top of everything. www.essayscouncil.com

Hi tanith thanks for your comments. Everyone is very positive about Lytham which is wonderful, we will of course do our own research too but I feel we are on the right track.
Thanks again smile

We spent a day in Lytham while on holiday and were really impressed with the area and all there was to see.. the buses looked plentiful too and lots of nice coffee/cafe type places. Not like we live there but it certainly looked nice .

Thanks Seasider I was wondering if I would get a reply! We are looking at property on the internet just to get some ideas. We will be visiting the area in Nov to get a feel for the place. I am so glad you gave a positive response I feel quite excited!
Thank you smile

Hi Babs we have a couple of members in the Lytham area . We had a meet up a couple of months ago. I live a few miles away so can probably answer a few of your questions ? It is a lovely area.

We are planning to relocate next year when DH retires and we are looking at Lytham St Anne's. We live in the SW and are a long way from family and an international air port!! Our daughter lives in the USA and we visit each other frequently.

What will I miss apart from friends of course is the sea so we are looking at the NW coast. Family and northern friends will be about 40 mins drive away.

Do any Gransnet members live in Lytham? I would be grateful for your advice and opinions.
