Rude bits

On another thread someone's friend uses Wiggy for her genitalia.
I grew up with no words for any part of my rude bits, they were never ever mentioned. Nowadays I say Fanny. What do the rest of you say?

In Sweden they have invented a word for female genitals it is snippa ! The equivalent male word is snoppa .

Blimey what a doings

Matella Tue 22-Sept-15 16:12:16

A friend of mine calls it her "pasty". The mind boggles!

Luckygirl Tue 22-Sept-15 16:24:46

It is interesting that we purport to find the idea of calling any human parts "rude" as rather silly, but that the use of euphemisms seems to be international, if the posts on here are anything to go by. There must be a reason - I do not know what it is.

Bellasnana Tue 22-Sept-15 16:48:12

Elegran it means 'potato' in Maltese too. I suppose it originated because they think one's behind resembles a spud grin

Elegran Tue 22-Sept-15 16:58:33

"Bravas" doesn't seem to mean brave, but fierce. I like the thought of a fierce bum.

I'm late to this discussion and I confess I haven't read all the postings so someone may have already mentioned the Vagina Monologues which is a very funny sketch show which talks about all the names women have for this part of their anatomy. I'm a clinician I call them by their anatomical names.

Bellanonna Tue 22-Sept-15 17:26:21

soop that's quite funny. Just as well it's not the other way round with males having a snippa. Ouch !

This has been posted before, but it's worth posting again!

Ninathenana, wonder whether that was the person I used to know! Someone unkindly asked if he had a brother Isaac.

After being told to be careful when he jumped on his father, GS told us he knew he mustn't hurt daddy's besticles! His brother used to talk about his 'illy which made us smile at some coffee advertisements.

farmgran Tue 22-Sept-15 22:04:56

The Nether regions covers the whole area nicely. For some reason its easier to name male parts such as Willy, the old feller, Cocky.

NotSpaghetti Tue 22-Sept-15 22:06:20

I'm afraid we always use the "real" names for them. Just as we do for other bits of the body. Seems simplest really.

Ana Tue 22-Sept-15 22:19:48

What do you call the female 'front bit' then, NotSpaghetti?

'Vagina' is simply inaccurate. I think that's why it's easier for most to use one of the terms listed on this thread.

'Mons pubis' doesn't seem to have caught on...

Certain mushrooms have a vuvla too. That's what is referred to in books about fungi. If one can talk about a mushroom's vuvla, presumably one can talk about a person's.

thatbags Wed 23-Sept-15 06:51:52

Why is everyone mentioning vagina before the urethra? Vagina isn't even in the 'front bit'; it's in the middle.

Blue22 Wed 23-Sept-15 09:21:32

I actually don't care what daft names people use. It really isn't that important .

AlieOxon Wed 23-Sept-15 13:40:10

I just remembered I told my two daughters the word clitoris when they were small.....but it came out later as either 'ticklish' or 'licorish'.......

Actually I went through a medical anatomy course in St Andrews in the 1960s without this part being even mentioned something wrong there!

etheltbags1 Thu 24-Sept-15 09:50:14

We say 'tooshey' for DGD 'down below or bum for the back.
DD says 'fairy ' for her front and a...e for the back. A friend of mine is 70+ and still says her 'fairy', my other friend says 'mary' when referring to her front bits.
As a child my mother referred to my front bits as my 'pan' and my granny said it was my 'coffee pan lid'. lol. just thinking about this has cheered me up.

You learn something new every day. blush

Ana Thu 24-Sept-15 18:18:06

No one's mentioned 'lady garden' yet!

Bellanonna Thu 24-Sept-15 18:28:50

Mentioned on Tuesday at 13.38 ana. I remembered seeing it, didn't just trawl aimlessly through the thread !

Ana Thu 24-Sept-15 18:34:19

Oh, sorry! Should have trawled myself...grin

rosesarered Thu 24-Sept-15 21:21:49

Yes, what fun we had last year on here with the trimming of lady gardens,
Not to mention Christmassy bushes.grin Our DGS calls it his dinky, and it really is dinky.

susieb755 Thu 24-Sept-15 23:08:45

My mum always called my brothers penises their tails , but never ever mentioned our bits ! She terrified my sister by asking her if her front bottom ever bled.....

I called the boys bits willys, and the girls Minnie's ,

gettingonabit Fri 25-Sept-15 08:26:28

Growing up, I had a Mary and my friend had a Binkie. My daughter had a Fannymary. My father had a Peter. My friend has a Foof. Nowadays I just say Bits or Ladygarden.

Got to laugh at Ivor Stiffgrin. (immature..)
