new autumn fashion

I have capes/serapes in quite a few colours from YEARS ago, never quite manage that elegant insouciant look, more like I'm strangling myself with a blanket.
Ah well, the bank statement says "New Autumn fashion? Same Winter clothes "

I studied the Style section of the Sunday Times this morning which was of no help whatsoever in choosing a few bits for the Autumn. I am probably going to inhabit black jeans etc and some nice skirts from white Stuff but what I can't find at a reasonable price is a winter jacket/blazer style- any suggestions warmly welcomed.

I saw a cape being worn with a very short skirt.
She looked like she was into fashion.
I didnt know quite what to make of the look.
The cape rather swamped her.

I had seen the cape, and liked it. But in a drawer I have one from a long time ago that I can never bear to throw out. Good job, as now I can resurrect it and give it an airing. It's maybe not as smart as the tweed one, being black one side and tan the other. I think it was one from M&S, if that's not advertising . Love the emoticons now I have found out how to do them.

Unless truly worn as a nightshirt.

I agree with you Auntieflo, that was my first thought on seeing it! an old fashioned nightshirt that would look ridiculous, even on a young, tall, slim, attractive woman!

I see what you mean. It would look much better worn with leggings IMO. Also Auntieflo, have you seen all the capes everywhere. I hope these capes are not just aimed at us northern lassess, but are countrywide. I don't think I'll be buying one though.
