Any time I hear or see someone over come great adversity. Be it through war, illness disability etc. They are truly inspiring The human spirit is a wonderful thing.

One of mine came very early on. I was seven and a Brownie and one of the other girls was a blue baby (remember them?) I started trying to be nice to her because she wasn't as well as the rest of us only to find that she was thoroughly unpleasant. It was a good lesson to learn that ill health doesn't necessarily make you a saint and that people are what they are regardless of health or anything else.

Corny I am afraid . When my first son was born and I realised this was a lifetime's friendship.

What moments/times have been a sort of lightbulb moment?

Mine was when Jamie Oliver did the healthy eating in schools programmes, and people objected by pushing food through the school gates.
I thought that if a popular young man, who was trying to improve things, got a reaction like that, that no one is ever going to please all of the people all of the time.
