...that just did a huge and yucky plopsy right in my washing basket, that I hate it and I'm gonna get shooting lessons. hmm

Grrr!

Know how you feel. Just finished cleaning the windows this morning only for a bird to "decorate" the front ones!

LyndaW Fri 11-Sept-15 13:28:02

Ha! I hope that wasn't on top of the washing?
I was pooped on by a pigeon on my way to an interview once (right on the shoulder of my new 'interview' jacket. Supposed to be lucky...but I never got the job hmm

I bet it's the same bloody pigeon that sits on the telephone wire outside our bedroom window cooing sweetly every morning!

If only there were 'one' pigeon!

It wasn`t a pigeon, it was a seagull, that decorated my brand new lemon pleated skirt a few years ago whilst on hoiday in Padstow. It never did come out properly, there was always a mark there, blasted gulls!

It's the wretched pigeons who descend on my freshly scrubbed and refilled bird bath, slurp up some water and turn round and poop in the basin. I have no compassion when they stun themselves against the windows( usually immediately after the window cleaner has left)

BlackeyedSusan Fri 11-Sept-15 21:55:32

pigeons usually fly into the windows shortly after the window cleaner has been. I then get a pigeon print on the window for the next month or so. particularly trying if the bloomin' pigeon leaves an impression of its eye... seems like it is looking at me... all the time..

Agreed Stansgran, that birdbath thing is pretty disgusting, and only the pigeons do that! I clean ours out every couple of days.angry

BlackeyedSusan Fri 11-Sept-15 22:01:57

we get seagulls too. They used to live on the waste ground over the other side of the factory... dead nice round our way until they started building houses on it. fabulous. we get screeching fighting poo-bomb dropping hooligans over the gardens.

Nothing to do with birds pooing, but watching seagulls on a starlit night just gently cruising on a thermal is for me a wonderful soothing sight. Hate the things during the day, when they screech and fight.

I guess none of you have solar panels. Oh how the pigeons love to build their nurseries beneath them. And they believe in communal living too. From early dawn they scramble about with their clogs on, and challenge each other to who can coo the loudest and most continuously competitions. Not to mention the daytime row of 20+ along the apex of my roof, and the little heaps they leave behind . Cost me a fortune to have mesh fixed around the panels, but so worth it to have peaceful awakenings.

Stansgran Sat 12-Sept-15 10:06:36

Yes yes with their clogs on. And full on sex on the ridge tiles.

rosequartz Sat 12-Sept-15 10:12:48

Or scrabble around on the conservatory roof as they position themselves to do a big poo.
The window cleaner won't do the roof and DH and I have trouble doing it now.

I don't mind the cooing but it drives DH mad!
I hate the noisy magpies who wake up at an uncivilsed hour

When I was with ex dh we had pigeons nesting in the loft. We weren't aware of quite how bad it was until we were selling the house, and the buyers surveyor came round.

He opened the loft hatch and was showered in guano in a surprising variety of consistencies.

Stansgran, grin pigeons have no inhibitions do they?

janerowena Sat 12-Sept-15 14:23:42

I hate them with a vengeance, there is a giant poo right on the narrow (poorly lit) walkway to my outdoor freezer room, which often needs accessing on dark evenings. Every time I stepped over it yesterday I had my hands full, so thought I must remember to clear that up - of course I forgot until I skidded in it at 9.30pm.
