Yes, just watch and see what everyone else does Ann

I'd take flowers and a nice box of chocolates or some home made cakes or biscuits - if you're a baker.

Asian families usually do take their shoes off at the door, I wish all others would too!
I would take care to dress nicely ( sure that you do anyway) and just be normal and friendly. They are obviously a Christian family from what you say.

Oh that's lovely annsixty. I think you will have a wonderful time. I shouldn't worry about offending them but if there are shoes by the door you could take yours off, or ask if they would like you to do that.

Flowers are always acceptable.

You can not offend by being yourself. Explain you are just dropping in and leave when you need to. You took flowers so don't need to overdo it. As for shoes do what others do. Don't worry too much. She obviously wanted to invite you because you were so friendly.

We have new neighbours , two doors away. They are an Indian family 30/40 ish with two boys one 11 and the younger about 9. They bought the house months ago and appear to have had it gutted and done through and they have suddenly appeared although no-one saw a removal van or anything. I went round a few days ago with flowers and a card and the wife was very shy but lovely.
Now they have been round to ask us in for food on Saturday evening. They are having the house blessed in the afternoon with prayers and a service and we are invited afterwards for the "party".
Now does anyone know what is expected? Do we take a gift, do we take our shoes off at the door and any thing else to do less we offend?
I have explained it will be a short visit as DH doesn't do "social " now but desperate not to blot our copy book. They told me the Paster and members of their church will be there.
