A couple of things you might not know about me.......

My celebrity moment was being invited to the cinema by The Shadows and Frank Ifield whom my friend and I met near the theatre stage door one afternoon, when they had time to kill. All completely innocent though!

I got pregnant with my son in a field.

tanith - I too sit out star gazing at night. It always makes my problems seem very small.

downtoearth - I have danced naked in my garden too but it was at night and not in front of my children!!

I have become obsessed with Nobbly Bobbly ice lollies. I love them.

Our Head Girl was Anna Ford, the news reader and I had a crush on her younger brother .

I used to tell my mother I was doing Girl Guide badges but really went to the coffee bar with my friends. She said it was full of 'Coffee Bar Cowboys' and I was not allowed to go!

In the past thirty years we have provided accommodation in our home for more than 400 people for periods of a few days up to eleven years; including Sally Taylor, the delightful daughter of Carly Simon and James Taylor, and a man who was (but is no longer) a homeless alcoholic.

I never learned to ride a bike.

One of my brothers is a professional dancer and another is a baker.

My husband has an amazing moustache.

I used to do my sister's English homework and she did my maths.

I had a Taiwanese and two Afghan foster sons.

I have been present at the births of two of my grandchildren and the births of two of my language student's babies.

As a child I had scabies, lice, impetigo and malnutrition.

In the late 1960's Vera Lynn visited my grandad.

My celeb moments are: deliberately brushing past Richard E Grant in a theatre bar so I could touch him and almost picking up the same item, from the 'bargain' fridge in the local Waitrose, as Penelope Kieth!!

At the risk of bragging Well I met Julian Clary in Seahouses when he was filming his recent TV animal series. I dared myself to go up to him and he was lovely. I Wish I'd got a photo but we did chat about his new children's book.

Singing in The City Hall Glass ???? I didn't think CATS needed extras to howl in the background or I would have joined you.

That's the funniest thing I've heard in ages downtoearth I have a wonderful mental picture.

once embarrassed my teenage children, one sultry summers evening ,..with naked star jumps in the back garden ..was stone cold sober at the time...just extremely hot

I was forbidden to go to Eel Pie Island by my parents when I was 15. They had read about it in The News of the World. (Still don't know why I didn't just go.)

My DH went, at exactly the same age, to Eel Pie Island. He had read in the News of the World that there was 'sexual activity going on behind every tree.' He didn't see anything, or anyone famous.

Frankie Vaughan gave my best friend a (very chaste) birthday kiss when we were both 13.

I went to IoW Festival and saw Jimi Hendrix, saw the Stone on Eel Pie Island,

I lived in a place called Mwanza as a child with a lovely view of L Victoria.

I saw Micheal Jackson in concert at Wembley twice.

I like using outdoor gyms

I often sit out in my garden chair late at night and watch the stars and comets and the ISS go over my house. Only in the Summer of course (my neighbours think I'm bonkers.)

Here are a few more brags then. This thread has made me (a person who always dwells on negatives) realise that I am very lucky in some respects.

I have been to Venice 4 times.
I have been to New York.
I have been to several a few Greek Islands (got back from Thassos on Sunday)
I have been to France eight times, been to Seville, Madrid, Lakes Como and Garda, the Amalfi Coast, and many other places.
As well as my many lovely Beatles experiences, I have seen the Rolling Stones twice, Tom Jones twice in the '60s, The Kinks, Cilla, Gene Pitney, loads of the Mersey groups back in the day. George Harrison spoke to me and a couple of other fans once. (I was madly in love with him )

Not bad for a girl who was dragged up in the back streets of Birmingham.

I've been 5' 5" inches tall since I was 11 which was brilliant for being goal shooter in the netball team at that age because no-one else was as tall. Unfortunately, everyone else grew and, as they were better at any sport than me, I was dropped.

I too was/am a huge disappointment to my mother,*Ann*, because I didn't conform to her ideas at all but that is not something which regular readers of my posts haven't heard before.

Still not very exciting ( some of you live amazing lives) but I am coming back for a second go.......

I am an accidental gardener. I absolutely love it but can barely name 10 plant varieties. I just kind of guess and it seems to come together as if by magic.

I am a tiny touch of some of your posts.

I was not particularly short when I was 10 ..my passport said 4' 10". I only grew a further 4" after that!

My favourite sport at school was lacrosse.

I though Peter Noone form Herman's Hermits was wonderful when I was 13!
