We had a lovely chatty lunch at the Tullie Inn, Balloch (to which dunit introduced me back in July). Very good spicy carrot soup and something I think was called Manchester Apple Tart. Mike, the waiter who looked after us very well, took the photos.

I do hope that all went well today soop and that you and MacSporran enjoyed lunch with bags.

You have another heavy day tomorrow travel wise so good luck again.

I know one face that is going to be rather put out for the neglect on two days running. I am sure that he will get over it and may appreciate the staff more.

Bellasnana Tue 10-Nov-15 08:19:59

Thinking of you and MacS today, soop. Hope all goes well and the weather behaves. Enjoy your lunch with Bags.

Hot and sunny here (sorry blush) and I'm off out to look at kitchens for the new place. My neighbour offered to go with me. It has only taken us seven years to realize we get on rather well grin

Wishing all granspals a good day sunshine

Hoping all goes well tomorrow and Wednesday Soop, for both you and MacSporran. Best wishes. Look forward to receiving Duke`s portrait, next job is a frame. The recipients are in Spain right now, lucky so and sos. Number 2 daughter and hubby came back from Lanzarote last night, beautifully brown.
In the middle of renewing our passports, they expired 11 years ago. Can`t believe the price now, our last ones were £22, and £15 to renew. £72.50 now!
It`s blowing a flippn` hooley out there right now, hope the roof stays on!

soop Mon 09-Nov-15 15:41:03

I shall not be able to pop into ^our kitchen* until late on Wednesday. I shall of course miss you all. When I do return I shall hope to catch up with the latest news. In between time...look after each other, please.

Rain still chucketing down. Hey ho! As bags would say. wink

Congratulations from me too Pompa what lovely news and such a lovely picture of new arrival and his big sister. Also good news about your tumour as well.

Bags thank you for the scones. They were as light as air. Mind you it took me a while to get one down from the ceiling grin

Soop more lovely paintings. How talented you are. Rory looks so relaxed in your photo. We used to have two little Yorkies who spent most of their day laying on the sofa, only getting up to swap ends!

soop Mon 09-Nov-15 12:31:39

A BEAUTIFUL grandson for you to cherish, Pompa and, may I say, your granddaughter looks like a cherub. Her eyes and smile are very like yours. Thank you for sharing this happy news with us nosy lot. We have missed you. flowers
I'm also very relieved to hear that the results of the latest hospital visit remain positive. That is the type of news we hope to hear when MacSporran keeps the appointment in Oban hospital tomorrow. I also have an appointment the following day...in Glasgow. We're taking the opportunity to meet with bags tomorrow lunchtime. smile

It is a grisly day in bonnie Kintyre. Lashing rain, gusty winds but extremely mild.

number please PM your home address. Portrait will be with you later this week. smile

Pompa, he`s gorgeous, so is his big sister. Am I very much mistaken, or does she look a lot like you? (from what I can remember from your profile)
Lona and Bags, we go on April 4th, thanks for your good wishes.

thatbags Sun 08-Nov-15 21:16:33

I got a bit of a shock today, I was about to pull down the beans and there are still some growing, also I need to pick all the mangetouts and raspberries. I have never had a year like it before. It was warmer outside the other evening than it was in the house.

pompa Sun 08-Nov-15 19:56:37

garden is a bit sad, some stuff has gone over and dropping leaves whilst roses etc are still blooming. It has been quite mild.

stillhere Sun 08-Nov-15 19:51:12

Excellent, pompa, congratulations on your little addition, Albert is beautiful.

How is your garden? It's been amazingly warm here in Suffolk, you must have had good weather, too.

pompa Sun 08-Nov-15 19:39:51

Hospital appointment went well, tumour has not grown. They are going to do another MRI in 6 months and if has not changed, they will only check it every few years (unless I get problems).

loopylou Sun 08-Nov-15 19:14:41

Bless her!
DD (aged 26 months) took one look at her baby brother, turned up her nose and said 'That's not a baby monkey, go home now granny' and dragged my mother out the room!

hmm no idea where she got that idea from!

pompa Sun 08-Nov-15 19:09:55

Big sister went in to see him Friday morning. Phoned a bit later to see what she made of having a baby in the family. She lost interest after 10 minutes and went back to iPad !!!

loopylou Sun 08-Nov-15 19:06:55

Oh pompa many congratulations!
Big sister looks very proud, what a beautiful little girl, lovely smile!

I hope your hospital appointment went well too and you're not too frazzled.

It's been very quiet here without you so I do hope you'll be able to come and not do the washing up and join us soon. I'm sure there's some cake somewhere smile

Lona Sun 08-Nov-15 18:57:20

Congratulations pompa, he'll be mothered to bits by his big sister I think! flowerssunshine
number I don't know when you're off to Norway, but I hope you have a good time, you deserve it.
soop your latest paintings are looking really good, well done, especially under pressure.

Bellanonna Sun 08-Nov-15 18:47:30

Oh he's gorgeous pompa. His sister looks so proud too.

pompa Sun 08-Nov-15 18:24:21

After a fraught week of ups and downs, Albert Joseph made his entrance into the World weighing in at 8lb. Mother and baby are fine.

numberplease Sun 08-Nov-15 17:52:52

Janeainsworth, thank you so much.
Soop, I love the portrait, also love the labrador as well.
It`s very windy here, I`ve been out and fastened our gate so many times, but it still keeps getting blown off it`s catch, so will just have to put up with it clanging, fed up with traipsing outside.
Bags, I`m just about to sample one of your scones, I have some bought ones in the bread bin, but yours look so much nicer.
