Update on Barnardos history.

If you saw my previous post you will know DH is trying to get his DF's Barnardos records.
Well we need a copy of the death cert. to proceed, sadly the original can't be found.
I contacted the relevant register office for a copy. The web site says it will be dispatched within 7days. 14 days later nothing ( have today e-mailed them for update) looks like all the excitement was for nothing sad
Any genealogists any suggestions?

You can get a certificate from the GRO, too. They say that it will be four days from receipt of your order if you quote the relevant reference number. www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

Standard Service - Despatch target once order received Full or short certificate with GRO Index supplied £9.25 Four working days

Priority Service- Despatch target once order received Full or short certificate with GRO Index supplied £23.40 Next working day if GRO Index supplied.

To find the reference number, search at www.freebmd.org.uk/search
