Gosh poo aid! Those royals have everything!
Waiting for memory clinic referral
Daughter not allowed to know new baby’s name until she visits him
It's not often that I say anything positive about the royal family but I am impressed that Prince William is working on the Air Ambulance. He could have stayed in his cotton wooled privileged lifestyle but he's actually doing a job that's worthwhile and really helps other people.
Gosh poo aid! Those royals have everything!
I would blame Diana's stepmother and step-grandmother Barbara Cartland for engineering the match, not her father. He seemed to be thoroughly under the thumb of "Acid Raine", and it suited Grandma down to the ground to be connected with the Royals.
I think PW is a very sensible and clever man who wants to ensure he has an enjoyable and worthwhile job to go to every day. I'm sure he'll instill this work ethic in his children.
Yet he abused his first wife, fought her in court for custody of their children, his mother in law supported him, they separated 1969 he didn't marry Raine until 1976 when Diana was 15, Sarah Spencer was already in an affair with Charles . The day of the engagement Johnnie Spencer gave an jnterview and expressed his delight at the engagement and declared Diana was a perfect specimen when born ! mmmmmmm his mother in law was a close friend and lady in waiting to the QM and he had been equerry to the queen , he lived at sandringham and holidayed at balmoral with his children long before Raine was on the scene, he was so close to the windsors the queen attended his first wedding
Do people really think he is just going to be doing the job and nothing else going on? There will be his bodyguards hanging about-costing more to us of course. Will he be working unsocial hours and covering Christmas rotas? His Gran will expect him at Balmoral so maybe not. He'll probably be sent on a tour of somewhere for a few months. This job could have been given to some young man who really needed it.
People seem to know a lot about the royal family!
Personally I just think he is to be commended for doing a worthwhile job when he doesn't need to work at all.
Yay Leticia!
Well, he isn't working in a factory is he? He enjoys flying so has chosen to combine his hobby with an occupation. Far more interesting then visiting charities, helping out at centre point etc. I think he should do charity work, bring in money for charities who are really struggling ,so I can't applaud him for choosing to fly air ambulances , am sure he would be bored sitting in his country house and couldn't go hunting every day . Charles was just a little younger I think when he started up the Princes Trust which has helped thousands of young people . So sorry to royalists but I think this job is Rsther self serving
What exactly does Charles contribute to the Prince's Trust other than his name?
They do, Leticia. I'd class myself as a Royalist, but don't take a fraction of the interest that some of the non-Royalists seem to.
Anniebach if William had chosen charity work I'm sure he would have chosen the wrong charity!
Lona
Yes indeed, Lona!
The difference between Charles and William is that Charles couldn't distance himself from the throne as William is able to do for now. His job, after he left the navy, was to assume the heir in waiting role. It's been a long wait which has played into William's hands as there's not really that much he needs to do in the way of Royal duties until he becomes the heir to the throne.
My niece used to work for the Prince's Trust and spoke very highly of Charles and his role in the charity.
I work for the nhs. PW will be surrounded with bodyguards. He will not be allowed to do a normal job (maybe through no fault of his own!!). He will be shielded from all the blood and gore that we normal nhs employees will endure as part of our training and normal day to day working. The air ambulance team DO NOT sit around playing cards and gettintpg to know each other. Don't knock it till you've tried it!!!...
He's the pilot, Mumsy. Not a paramedic.
Lona, can there be a wrong charity?
Air ambulances do not race around the sky all day and night, like firemen they wait for call outs Mumsy, unlike on the ground ambulance teams , they do spend time waiting I doubt he will witness much blood, the pilot does not tend the injured , they sit at the controls ready for a very swift take off or to whinch up stretchers if they are at an accident where the ambulance can't land .
Air ambulances fly with two separate professions , the paramedics and the air crew , with William they will have to also carry his bodyguard
Anniebach I'm sure you'd manage to find something wrong with it!
I find it quite surprising how much they know, Maggiemaybe!
Of course it would be the 'wrong' charity, whatever he chose. The poor chap can't do anything right! Now we get that he shouldn't be a pilot because he enjoys it- as if other pilots don't become pilots because they enjoy it! It appears that he should work in a factory to please some people, as if anyone with that amount of money and education would choose to work in a factory!
I apologise for the amount of exclamation marks but really!!
He doesn't need a job. He is choosing to do one, a worthwhile one, using his skills and working with ordinary people. He is doing what everyone else does and choosing a job he loves.
I remember the criticism on here ( or it could have been MN) when Harry left a 'real' job to work for a charity which apparently isn't a 'real' job. ( which is a real shame for those who work hard for charities).
I am not a fan of Prince Charles, but I think it unfair to say that he has just given his name to the Prince's Trust.
I think we should give them a break. I would absolutely hate to be born into royalty.
Would it be better if he saw a lot of blood?!
I thought Diana and Charles were matched up by the Queen Mother and Diana's grandmother who was one of the Queen Mother's Ladies in Waiting.
I post my opinion on the windsors and get snide comments , so a poster can be criticised but not a windsor, most odd .
Leticia, I do think you are being rather childish or bitchy, I did not say he should work in a factory and I did not say he should not be a pilot because he enjoys it,
Perhaps an apology for twisting my posts would be more appropriate than an apology for your use of exclamation marks ?
You do appear to criticise him being a pilot and not counting it as a real job because he enjoys it!
I do not apologise- my point is that there is nothing that he could do that you would approve of- he can't possibly win.
I do not like or dislike the windsors, I don't know them , I have my opinions on them as does all who are posting on this thread , I do not oooohhh and awww over them , have no cause to. They are who they are.
How do we know how much time he spends with charities. If I was him I certainly wouldn't tell anyone- much better to do these things in private if you want to be any use.
