Yes , Lys I think it is. one rather sad case was a woman who, with her husband had looked after her little grandson since he was a baby , her daughter was a single mum and battling cancer. now, five years on, the daughter recovered fully, met an Aussie man, fell in Love and moved with the little boy to live with him ( in OZ) and the woman was devastated.She missed him so much that it felt unbearable, so she ordered a doll that looked very like her grandson as a baby.When she went to collect it, her husband hated it and said it repelled him.However, she loved it and took it home, and said that nobody would be able to take it away from her.
this programme just resonated with me because I have been watching Humans, the TV series about robots /androids.Thinking, if this ever came to pass in the future ( like AI) the film, people really would want artificial babies / children.
