That's lovely news Kitty. Gives me hope that one day my DD and DGS may establish a new family with a worthy man. flowers to you for all the support you have given.

Lovely to hear this, kitty! Enjoy the clean and peaceful home and look forward to the nest time they are with you to mess it up again. You do deserve a bit of a rest now, though. wine

Well done to you kitty for being such a wonderful support for your dd, it's great to be in a position to help, but very hard work and upsetting too.
I'm so pleased that she's found happiness with someone else, you must now be feeling happy and relieved flowers sunshine

Kitty

Really good to see you posting with a happy heart again.

I wish my DD could find a new fella sad. She did have a relationship but he couldn't be 'natural' with DGD. It was a shame as she really did like him a lot. The DGD comes first though so it wasn't to be.

Things are still 1 step forward 2 back with us so I don't see a change anytime soon but hey, things could be a hell of a lot worse.

I am so pleased for you all. wine

You have been great Kitty for supporting your DD while she has been through such a trying time. What would she have done without you? So glad she has found a lovely partner. Hope it goes well for them both.

I know you will miss the hurly burly young children create around them. It will probably seem lovely very quiet when they are not there, but it seems like the rest of the family will ensure you don't pine!

Sit down and enjoy a little wine and think job well done!

NfkDumpling Wed 08-Jul-15 17:36:24

Aahhh, peace and the freedom to wander from bathroom to bedroom in the altogether! Enjoy! wine

Now come on you know you will miss them!! What will Sainsbury's be like without little hands stuffing things in the trolley. Seriously I wish them all the luck in the world in their life together. My DD is 50 on Friday and I hate to think of her being on her own although she seems happy. GS is 16 and GD 13 tomorrow so they won't be with her forever.

rosesarered Wed 08-Jul-15 16:15:21

Oh! Disappointed mode! no cakes for us then.
good on her though for starting the business.

kittylester Wed 08-Jul-15 16:11:03

Me too. Teetime, though I somehow doubt it! grin

I don't make the cakes rose, it's DD. She started making wedding and celebration cakes while her marriage was disintegrating but it has taken off over the period she has lived with us. She now makes at least one wedding cake a month with the one or two birthday cakes as well. It was meant to help her moneywise and be doable from home as the children are so tiny. It's very sticky and plays havoc with the carpets!

Teetime Wed 08-Jul-15 15:28:00

I hope they really have a great time in their new home and that you will be able to see them as much as you like. Hopefully you will have a bit more space and time for yourself. flowers

rosesarered Wed 08-Jul-15 15:24:55

ninathenana Wed 08-Jul-15 15:22:38

I'm so pleased for your DD and the children kitty
It took me a good two-three weeks to think "Ok, I'm missing them now" and mine weren't even under the same roof grin

kittylester Wed 08-Jul-15 15:05:56

They will only be half an hour away and ha e already booked to stay the night in a fortnight so they can go out while we babysit. And, DD2 is coming for a week over the holidays. And, the two oldest DGC have asked if they can come and stay now we have spare rooms! Eeeeek!

hildajenniJ Wed 08-Jul-15 15:02:47

What good news kitty. I hope it is the start of a new and much better life for your family. They all deserve every happiness after the turmoil they've been through. Enjoy the peace and quiet. smile

janerowena Wed 08-Jul-15 14:57:38

I don't think you will miss them for quite a while - probably not until you have stopped feeling tired! I think it was lovely of you to do it though, and I hope your DD has better luck this time round.

harrigran Wed 08-Jul-15 13:43:51

So pleased that everything is working out and you are going to regain your own space smile

Well done for being there for them when they needed you!
Enjoy the relative peace and having them to visit ( and go home again afterwards).

Nonnie Wed 08-Jul-15 10:50:35

Once you have got over having the place to yourself and cleaned up I bet you will miss them!

MiniMouse Wed 08-Jul-15 10:50:23

Great news all round smile Bet you'll miss them though!!wink

kittylester Wed 08-Jul-15 10:39:50

DD and the DGC I mean. It's only been 18 months. Now, where is the number for the carpet cleaning man and the cooker cleaning man! Two under 4s and a cake making business take quite a toll. grin

DD and the children are currently on holiday with her lovely partner. Now that it is the end of term, they will be coming back straight to their new home. DD and partner have spent the last few weeks doing it up and will spend the summer helping the children settle in before they start at their new nursery.

DD's partner is brilliant with the children and they adore him. Unfortunately the Idiot still is an Idiot but DD is getting stronger at dealing with it and is getting loads of support from her new man.

Thank you all for helping me cope - GN at it's brilliant best! flowers
