My NDNs are away on their honeymoon. They are very quiet, but don't get up very early. I therefore refrain from rummaging in the shed or clattering in the kitchen until their blind opens, so it has been lovely for me to do stuff early in the mornings without fear of disturbing anyone.

Ah, good one Soutra
My thinking was what would the odds be of people with those names living in that proximity to each other in any other village smile

I always like it when some neighbours go on holiday, especially next door, although everyone here is very nice, it makes it even quieter and/or we can make more noise ourselves without disturbing them.

I used to love August when I was at work - everyone with kids would clear off and I would be there getting all my paperwork and some of theirs up to date and having a good sort out. When they came back in September I would clear off and leave them to it - same thing at Xmas.

Are you not worried you can be identified by all that info ?

I thought you'd lost the plot then for a minute, then I thought I had! Please don't light a fire Soutra!

Our little corner of the village is looking like the Marie Celeste, Bev to one side, is in France, David, opposite also away (Spain?) Liz diagonally opposite also in France and Barabara on my other side, in Norfolk. Other David and Sarah plus their little boys are I think at Center Parcs.
So it is left to us and Gracie to "Mind the shop" <wanders off, singing "Keep the Home Fires Burning">
