I know I shouldn't be moaning - the birds are singing, it's lovely and warm, the gardens are in full bloom, but ...
I am a prisoner of hay fever, which is especially bad this year. I spend most of my time indoors, with doors and windows firmly closed. I take medication and use sprays, but still am going through so many tissues that I am sure a whole forest must have been cut down for my benefit. As for cutting the grass, I need a lie down afterwards. My eyes aren't too bad with it, but it's just like having the worst head cold in the world.
There's nothing worth watching on TV at the moment, which is perhaps just as well as I spend an hour each evening with my old style inhaler, doing the business in the hope that I will get a better night's sleep. I am so exhausted with the whole thing that I tend to nod off in the late afternoon, although I never usually nap. Oh yes and I've had to cut out the odd glass of wine.
The activities and classes that I enjoy and that help to structure my life are now all on a summer break, so I'm missing those. I've had a couple of big unexpected bills so I am living quite frugally at the moment - no online shopping to distract myself.
Friends and family will be away on holiday soon and I'm not going until late September. If it wasn't for reading, knitting, jigsaws and Netflix, I think I'd lose my mind. It's like one long winter evening really.
I feel a lot better now I've got that off my chest. Does anyone else get the summertime blues?

Burnham to tell schools in England to adapt teaching to local business needs- what do you think?

(this is meant to be funny just in case it reads wrong.)
