Thank you all! I have decided that 26 miles is a very long way! But no blisters (proud face) and I can walk today (yesterday I could only waddle)
The lack of sleep is def the hardest bit. Got a nasty injury at 19 miles so had to hobble the last seven but we managed to average about 17 minutes a mile (ish) so were quite chuffed at the end. Raised over £2,500 for breast cancer so there was no way we were going to give up, even when park benches looked as inviting as a four-poster bed! Never thought I would start my marathon career at 50. Well, to be honest, never thought I would do a marathon ever. Not hanging up my trainers yet though!

We were lucky with the weather - definitely helped.

The hardest bit was in the wee small hours when all the people doing the half moon (half marathon) all peeled off in a different direction and we knew that while they would soon be getting into bed we still had another 13 miles to go.

It was much better when the sun came up and also when we hit 16 miles and could start the countdown - 10 to go, 9 to go, 8 to go (though we all swore someone stretched the last mile - went on for EVER)
