kitty - I have been running our village library for a few years now - it happens once a month on our farmers' market day. Lots of nice stalls and cakes and tea - and a bit of culture from our library. They deliver books every 6 weeks and we make up a box to exchange. It works very well - except for chasing up the children's books, which is a challenge. And it is also complicated by the fact that books are returned by people who did not borrow them as they swap them around amongst themselves!

Looks like a wonderful wedding soop - aren't they fun!

Just popped in for a look at the photos soop, they are fabulous and I bet you had loads of compliments on your outfit!

Very busy chez Lester at the moment. DD is moving out and doing up the house, has 1 wedding cake, 1 christening cake and a whole heap of henna iced elephant biscuits to get done, I can't get at my kitchen, the Idiot is acting true to form and Mum has 2 infections.

Add to that the fact that our village library has been chosen as the first in the county to go 'live' being run volunteers. As I am on the committee I feel I should be pleased about this but we were expecting to go live in September not blinking July. Up to now, we haven't interviewed a single volunteer although we have 30 or so on the list, there is no training organised and, worse apparently, we have no policies in place [panicemoticon]

I think I'll just have a little lie down.

pompa if the weather is simialr to here you may be thinking of sunbathing today. It is sunny and warm here and getting hotter.

soop please do not overdo it with the ironing.

soop just looked after your lovely pictures. It looked a really nice setting for a wedding. Glad you got home safely and Rory has forgiven you (we were all -- sneaking him some titbits-- keeping an eye on him.

pompa if it's that windy where you are perhaps you should eat some more cake for ballast! Don't want you getting blown away

pompa I hope that it is not too windy in your neck of the woods to prevent you from visiting the local pub for an evening meal. In NW London you would be blown there and you would also need your winter woollies. I am about to switch on the heating as it is perishing.

It's a very pleasant end of afternoon. The sun is shining although a few angry black clouds are gathering over the islands.

It has been a treat to be with you lot throughout the day. I really did miss you. I've still so much catching up to do.

I have been attempting to respond to a lovely email from our Bellasnana It has taken 30 mins to send. The computer is playing silly b*****s big time. I'm really, really rattled. I've told it so.

As I've to do my pal's ironing tomorrow, I shall away to sort our laundry. When I return, it is possible that normal service on the net will have been restored. I blame the storm that we had during the night. Mind you, I slept right through it. Whereas MacS and Rory found the ferocious wind and lashing rain a trifle disconcerting.

I am so pleased that you had a fabulous time. I am looking forward to seeing the handsome Torben again. Absolutely great and totally unexpected that Rory greeted the pair of you with pleasure- he does love you both very much.

Ta-dah! Woops! Yay! Good afternoon to ALL you lovely lot. Thank you dear pal, bags for passing on messages and such.

We came home to well over a hundred emails. Piles of rubbish mail...and an ECSTATIC huge, black, wonderful cat...you know the one. We peered through the window...he was awake and sitting on the fleece top (now in the wash) that MacSporran had left for him. We saw him open his mouth and meow with gusto. Opened the door and it was tail up and loud purrs that greeted us. I swear MacS had a wee tear in his eye. MacS and Rory are together again. All is well with the world.

I shall add a few pics of the wedding to my album just as soon as I've had time to reduce the pixels.

Oh it was a wonderful occasion. So much hugging and kissing and wiping away of happy tears. Brilliant weather that took a nose-dive the following day.

I had no idea that Torben was to be there. I didn't know until I sat down at our table and saw his place name. At that time, my son and his partner and Torbs were just about to put in an appearance. They had left Sussex at 10.am. The tyre blew on the car just ten miles into the journey. They were on a busy road and my son couldn't get the wheel changed (something to do with special nuts!) AA arranged a trip back to their home. They then changed cars and started out again. The traffic en route was awful. Stop-starting and all that nonsense. they eventually walked in to the reception (having missed the ceremony) as the starters were being placed on the table. Talk about keeping cool, calm and collected in a crisis. I doff my cap to them.

The disco was a bit too much for us. My hearing aid went bonkers. We sat just outside the disco in a nice quiet corner. My sons together with others who didn't want to spend all night jumping around in a frenzy, joined us. At one point, my eldest son went off for mugs of refreshing tea. So very civilised.

The following day we left in a convoy and descended on my second son's home. A lovely buffet had been prepared and the bride and groom opened all their gifts...to much applause. It was a wonderful way to close the celebrations.

I shall gradually catch up with all your news. It may take me a day or so. It is lovely to be back with you. (((hugs)))

Charleygirl blooming cold here, have thick fleece on and woolly socks. Just got soaked getting bins in, fingers crossed for promised to you and pompa by end of the week.

I'm glad I took Mishap's advice on clothing for Pembrokeshire, so far we have worn our thickest winter woollies, hopefully by tomorrow the tee shirts will come out. Went to Pedine sands yesterday, could hardly stand up in the wind.

loopylou I live in NW London and instead of the start of summer I am certain we have jumped a season and this is the start of autumn. Admittedly there will be a mini heatwave at the end of this week so I will be out in the garden then.

Rory will not be interested in their return I suspect- not until a lot of fuss is made of him and this may last for a couple of hours to make sure that soop and Macsporran know their place.

Where are you Charleygirl? Mind you, it's blowing a hooley outside at the moment with torrential rain so hardly what you'd expect for the first day of June

I hope * soop* gets home safely, the weather looks even worse oop North...
Rory will have plenty to complain about on their return I suspect! Wouldn't be surprised if he's quite huffy for a few days until 'his serfs' acquiesce to His Nibs' whims!

It is winter weather here, too cold for a salad. Thankfully I am not a fan of mashed potatoes- the butter and cream would not do much for what used to be a waistline.
