DH wanted to stop off at our local agricultural merchants this morning to buy two small jubilee clips so he can repair his fishing seat. I paid and then DH asked me where I'd put the clips. I told him I hadn't got them so he searched his pockets....empty. I turned out my handbag....not in there either. The man who served us looked behind the till/on the floor/underneath a display....nope!

After we'd run out of places to look we were given two more off the shelf.

Back home and unpacking the shopping I spotted two strange looking signet rings on DH's fingers. shock

confused grin

Could you take him back to apologise?smile

J52 Thu 30-Apr-15 13:46:58

Maybe he should wear them, as a reminder grin x

Nelliemoser Thu 30-Apr-15 13:47:37

Definately make him take them back. grin

Bet you never let him hear the end of this!grin

I love that! grin

I suggested we take them back but he reckons he's spent a fortune in there over the years (true) so they can spare a couple of jubilee clips!!

I'm still giggling..... If you could have seen us looking under leaflets on the counter, underneath the card machine, behind the charity box....grin

He's been on form today. Aldi were selling multi-purpose compost for £1.99. You can load it straight in the back of your car so long as you make a note of the code number for the checkout.
Just as well I checked before we drove away because DH had loaded up two bags of ornamental bark!!

We have over a ton of the stuff in a heap at the bottom of the garden thanks to having our poplar trees pollarded last year!! hmm

Leave him at home?
DH isn't like that, he either belts into a shop and grabs what he thought he needs or spends ages agonising over the choices. Ideally I think he needs shops with no choice hmm

He did come home last week having spent a month deliberating, with two pairs of shoes, but different sizes [despair], one size 10, one size 7.....

Merlot.

Blow taking him to an agricultural merchants I think you should rush off with him to the nearest jewellery shop. wink

Merlot Count your blessings. MrA ran our boat aground yesterday because he momentarily 'forgot' that we were in America and went the wrong side of a channel marker shock
You have to laugh at them, don't you grin

gillybob Thu 30-Apr-15 16:24:03

Could have been worse janeainsworth He might have "momentarily" thought he was in Australia and capsized you ! grin

janeainsworth Thu 30-Apr-15 17:01:02

gilly grin he was extremely blush and will be taking a lot more care in future! Fortunately only damage was to his pride!

merlotgran Thu 30-Apr-15 17:07:15

Makes you wonder if any of them are safe to be let out grin

'There's never a drip with a jubilee clip'! Old phrase that came to mind reading this.

DH heard a vehicle outside of our house yesterday looked out of the bedroom window and said "oh it is just an ordinary car" so I asked him whether he was expecting it to be Noddy's car or maybe Barbie's pink car confused

Eloethan Thu 30-Apr-15 17:17:39

POGS smile

merlotgran Thu 30-Apr-15 17:19:38

As we say in our family 'Take him anywhere twice - the second time to apologise.'

Just asked DH the time ( my watch needs a battery) he looked on his wrist. Then started to look round the house to find his watch. Nowhere to be seen.
He then looked under his jumper sleeve and there it was all the time!

I then told him Merlotgran's OP. Cheered him up no end!smile x
