mrshat Sun 26-Apr-15 16:50:25

O Dear Bellasnana you and your DH are having a really tough time lately. Keep strong flowers and sunshine

Soutra Sun 26-Apr-15 16:05:34

Sending you and your DH some flowers Bellasnana. It is so frustrating when treatment for one problem just causes another but I am glad something is being done now. GI bleeds feature quite a lot in DH's life and he too had a particularly bad one in the Heart Hospital a couple of years ago when he was given a much higher dose of Warfarin for a pulmonary embolism. They had great difficulty stabilising him then and it was what you might call a bit of a tense moment. Weighing up one problem against another is why they are the doctors and we just cross everything!
Best wishes to you both, I was getting worried!smile

annodomini Sun 26-Apr-15 16:05:30

soop,I've never understood where that 'sleep like a baby' comes from. If I slept like a baby I'd be waking every three or four hours for a feed and a nappy change!
Bella, what a bad time for you and DH. Wasn't it thoughtful of him, in the midst of all his problems, to organise help for you? She sounds like a treasure. I see that the hospitals here aren't the only ones that charge outrageously for parking! Doesn't that add insult to injury! Meanwhile, do look after yourself. It's wonderful to be needed, but not so easy when you're indispensable. flowers

Bella sending best wishes to you and your husband. I hope he starts to feel better soon flowers

soop Sun 26-Apr-15 15:33:20

Dear*Bella*, I'm also very sorry and sad to hear that your darling husband is back in hospital. It was thoughtful of him to arrange for you to have help with the domestic duties. It sounds as if you've an awful lot of comings and goings together with regularly minding your lovely, wee granddaughter. You have super-human staying power. Bless you. Thank you for taking the time to update us. flowers

Charleygirl Sun 26-Apr-15 14:13:23

Bella that was very thoughtful of your DH to ask that lady to clean your house- as you said, it is one problem off your mind.

It is possible in this country to get a deduction in car park fees if a patient has cancer- you can but ask.

Keeping the fingers crossed that all goes well tomorrow flowers

janerowena Sun 26-Apr-15 14:11:00

flowers and best wishes.

loopylou Sun 26-Apr-15 14:06:39

Trust me to miss breakfast by calling in late grin

It has been quite a week. Since DH came out of hospital a week ago, he never got out of bed, feeling weary and looking a terrible colour. On Thursday he phoned the hospital and was told to go in immediately, which we did.

It seems the medication given for the blood clots has caused a gastrointestinal bleed from his tumour. Bless him, he has been without food or drink for four days now. They said he can have yogurt today so I shall take some for him. Tomorrow they are going to go into a vein and try to extract the blood clots that way, as he cannot have the medication any more.

Today I am babysitting DGD until 2pm when DD2 finishes work, then I shall go to the hospital again. I seem to be spending vast sums of money in their car park, but hey ho (if I may quote Bags) smile

On a brighter note, I have a lovely, clean house thanks to DH asking one of the cleaners at the hospital if she would be interested in helping us out. She has been twice now, a sweet girl from the Philippines, so it is one less worry for me and she is glad of the extra cash.

Weather here is gorgeous which certainly helps cheer the mood sunshine

Take care, granspals and I wish you all a peaceful Sunday flowers cupcake brew

janerowena Sun 26-Apr-15 12:06:37

And you, soop. You may find that your celebrations catch up with you later, and you will need a nap by that fire.

soop Sun 26-Apr-15 11:14:55

Yay! Ta dah! A bight and breezy good morning to all you lovely lot...
I slept like a new-born babe and, apart from waking with a terrible dry mouth, I'm in the pink, so to speak.

It's peaceful in here. The coffee smells heavenly. Greek yogurt laced with honey and walnuts, toast and Marmite or marmalade or blackcurrant jam. Now, what shall I have...maybe a taster of each. wink

Thank you pompa for looking after the girls. You are a real gent.

It is a tad cool here in bonnie Kintyre. The sun is shining and the wavelets are capped in white. Methinks that a leisurely day is in order. We may need to light the fire this afternoon. Enjoy your day.

Charleygirl Sun 26-Apr-15 09:34:05

I have not long crawled out of bed and I had nothing stronger than coffee last night. The local pharmacists will be rubbing their hands with glee knowing that some of you lot have been out and about imbibing.

Thank you Iam64 I love a good marmalade- I will make coffee because I have not touched tea for 50 years.

It is dull and miserable today, Tara my cat has the right idea, she has not moved from my bed.

Nelliemoser Sun 26-Apr-15 09:08:44

God morning I have had my cereal Now I have to choose between marmalade or marmite. Off to pour a cup of tea.
No signs of my DGC2 emerging yet. This could go on for another week.

annsixty Sun 26-Apr-15 08:33:53

Only even!!!

annsixty Sun 26-Apr-15 08:33:18

baubles Sun 26-Apr-15 08:32:19
