Congratulations Nellie on the arrival of Leo. flowers
Before I dash off to belly dancing a quick reminder to say 'white rabbits' in the morning.

Nellie! congratulations. There's nothing like that feeling of a newborn against your neck.

A visiting conductor came to my choir last night, a young up and coming musician. I hadn't seen him for ten years and thought he wouldn't recognise me after all that time, he was a music gap student and taught my son, DBH and I used to take him to the pub. I had been going to slip past him - but he saw me, had a big beam on his face and gave me a hug and a kiss, it made my day. And there was I, thinking what an aged old crone I must look to him now. grin It was so lovely to see him looking so well and married to a beautiful girl, and doing well as a musician in such a fickle industry. I used to wish he and my DD would get together, but they were only ever friends.

Tonight though, it's knitting club. My third night out in a row. I'd rather have an early night!

It is time to log off and do useful boring stuff. I shall be doing more ironing for my pal tomorrow morning...and dog sitting (three lively Pomeraniums)...after which, we go to the Care Home to visit another pal. When I return, I shall pop into our kitchen to update myself on the goodly goings-on of you lovely lot. (((hugs for all))) moon

Aw Nellie, there`s nothing quite like that feeling, is there?

annodomini Wed 29-Apr-15 21:25:23

I still get that feeling about a 23-year-old, loopy.

loopylou Wed 29-Apr-15 20:38:11

Oh, that unforgettable grandmotherly haze when you first meet a newborn baby and especially a GC.
I only have one DGS, and 20+ months later I still go all gooey eyed when I see him.
(Sad old bat)!

Grannybug Wed 29-Apr-15 20:28:30

wine wine wine congratulations Nellie on the birth of your grandson Leo ( such a nice name)

annsixty Wed 29-Apr-15 20:05:44

I will certainly join you in a toast to Leo nellie . I think a lot of us GP's want "just one more" I have 6 GC and saw the first 4 within a few hours. Thing weren't quite so straight forward with the last 2 and I didn't see the youngest until he was 3 months old.He is now 4 and we are very close. Just make the most of them both while they are so young, you will reap the rewards later on.

I have come in for a rest. I am just back from DDs and seeing my new grandson. I went off about 8pm on Sunday when DD decided she really was in labour and I came back this morning.
I minded my 2.5 yr old DGS all day Monday and yesterday. We got to visit in the afternoon and DGS met his baby brother. I had my first cuddle of the baby and fell in love. Toddlers are exhausting!
In the evening I went to pick up DD and baby from hospital. A scary honour driving home someone elses 24 hr old baby. This morning I had another cuddle before I left to go home. I am in a Grandmotherly haze right now.
Join me in a toast. wine wine wine

Time for me to return to the sanctuary of the kitchen. I need to stop digging holes for myself on other threads smile

pompa Wed 29-Apr-15 17:23:18

Soop, hadn't notice the shouting text (wouldn't expect it of you, so it didn't cross my mind)
Funnily, Mrs. P is just researching the causes of bursitis, too much physical exertion was first on the list (at which point she curled up in mirth).

soop Wed 29-Apr-15 17:10:26

pompa I wasn't meaning to shout! Sorry about the bold type. I must have had a trigger-happy-moment.

soop Wed 29-Apr-15 17:07:42

I wish you you lot a jug of dreams. How lovely that would be. Good to hear that you enjoyed your lunch, bags. We must meet again in the not too distant future. sunshine

Although the wind remains bitterly cold, the sun is shining...makes such a difference.

pompa you are a treasure. Us lot say so. Keep positive and don't go overdoing things that tax your joints. "Pay back time" (as bags would say) is best avoided. Relax...and one of us will peel a grape for you. And of course...there's always plenty of *Kitcheners home-baked goodies to tuck into.

Well done number that's my girl. wink

Thinking of Bella flowers

Mishap Yes! Let Mother take her course. She knows best. Not too long now. I'm excited for you. grin

numberplease Wed 29-Apr-15 16:29:25

Gagagran, stick with the jug of dreams, I need a few of those!

I sold the rise and recline chair, for a quarter of what I was asking a few months ago, and £25 less than Id gone down to, but at least it`s gone now, more space in the garage. Next is the car........

Very cold and windy today, but at least the sun`s shining, this morning it was raining.

POGS Wed 29-Apr-15 16:08:21

soop

Good to hear, keep plenty of ice on tap in that case. wink

thatbags Wed 29-Apr-15 15:36:19

Just back from a great chatteroo lunch with dunnit. Nice to meet another Lancashire Lass via Gransnet. I'd better head out and work off some of the chocolate fudge cake now.

pompa Wed 29-Apr-15 14:40:13

A jug of dreams sound much better smile

Gagagran Wed 29-Apr-15 14:21:55

jug of cream (NOT dream!)

janerowena Wed 29-Apr-15 14:21:50

pompa I too think I shall have to resort to a pin, as there isn't a candidate here I would choose to vote for! Or maybe I could just draw in my own box at the bottom and put 'situation vacant' next to it?
