Apricot - I know how you feel! Not my own GC I am happy to say, but this dressing up of children like little adults gets my goat. You can buy jeans in a 0 - 3 month size for goodness sake!

And just don't get me started on the subject of piercing babies' ears!

Not really.

Oh ho, now you're asking, apricot! Yes, yes and yes. Where would I start? I wouldn't criticise their choice of names as all four of them have good ones but there are other things I would criticise. However, although DH and I do have a grumble about certain things, we tend to keep it private. I think each generation has its own way of bringing up children and in the same way that we have reservations about the current crop of young parents, our own parents had the same about us, so we say nothing. As a generalisation, though, I would suggest that as today's parents generally both work, they tend to overcompensate by being less strict with their children than perhaps we were with ours and sometimes that results in behavioural problems. I'll say no more!

Today I met a two months old baby called Pixy, which would be cute for a puppy. Her tiny feet were strapped into plastic sandals.
I wondered what her grandmothers thought about her mother's parenting style. Have any of you had to bite your tongues not to criticise your grandchildren's upbringing?
