I was so excited when I was asked to project manage the establishment of a book shop (this was in SA) - and then to manage the shop once it opened.
But my God, was I bored after a while, trapped in that shop, especially on quiet days when no one came in, and all that waited for me as distraction was to heft around heavy boxes of books and straighten shelves. Not to mention some of the weird "regulars" that would come in - sometimes I'd hide in the stock room from them. The woman who worked in the computer shop next door to me would come in for a chat (she had colleagues, I didn't, apart from the odd part time student), equally bored, and she was dead boring too. So I was seriously trapped. (this was pre-internet days).
So that taught me that even a "dream job" can be the worst job!
