Sorry to hear about this latest setback, ga. You must all be feeling so helpless, but take heart that these wonderful units can swerve to deal with crises in a matter of moments and your little grandaughter's care has brought her so far since her birth. One of our little grandaughters was back on the C-PAP just a week before being discharged at her gestational age of 39 weeks, when she got another infection, started wheezing and needed help to feed again. (Crying uses up so much energy and it's back on tube feeding to conserve as much as possible). Very disconcerting to learn the anxious parents were being trained in resuscitation at home. The panic subsided when her treatment took effect and we breathed yet another sigh of cautious relief. My daughter was seeing other preemie babies still being tube-fed and on oxygen weeks after discharge, when they were going to their frequent hospital appointments.
I hope the next news you hear is much more positive.
