how about a new and happy thread, for the good bits in our lives.

So today I smiled because the first redstarts appeared in the garden and a gaggle fo noisy fieldfares.

I smiled today because after 6 years here, the work on the second bathroom (Italian style shower and WC) is starting today- we will soon have a proper 'guest wing'.

I smiled this morning when I came downstairs and saw lovely flowers in the hall, lounge and dining room. A real treat. All from my 2 DDs yesterday. smile Lovely thread granjura

So many wonderful smiles- and even more wonderful, from some people who are really 'going through the mill' - so bravo, you are such a great bunch. And let's try to keep smiling, even in adversityflowers smile smile

I smiled today because DS is now back from Salisbury Plain and within mobile phone range, he rang to ask if he could home for the weekend. I suspect he just wants a proper bath. grin His phone is now out of charge though, so we are having to wait until it is charged up so that we can resume the conversation! smile

I smiled because I was packing up a knitted zebra I've just finished for DGS, it's pretty good, even if I say so myself!

What a lovely thread smile

I smiled today when I received the most beautiful bouquet of spring flowers from a dear friend. There are so many good, kind people in my life who make me smile with their kindness smile

I smiled today when I was able to text DD to tell her we would foot the bill for her car to be mended. She uses it mainly to cart our gorgeous grandkids round, so it's only right. smile

KatyK- the 3rd DH here to have a BD today. Bon anniversaire and so glad he is so much better.

Mine never thought he would get to 50- due to family history and his kidneys being permanently damaged by a strep throat when he was a medical student- wonderful to see him looking forward to his 70th skiing with the GCs next year.

I smiled today because I went on a lovely walk with best friend and my son's partner and their dogs. It was uphill all the way to a wonderful viewing point and I smiled even more on the way down.

Oh yes and I am still smiling after my G&T.

I smiled today because it is my DH's birthday and he had a wonderful card from our DGD. He had cancer last year and has been through the mill, but all is well at the moment. DGD's card had 'Grandad you are my super hero' printed on the front. Inside she had written 'granddad you are an inspiration to me in the way you have been throughout your treatment. You have been positive and still kept making me laugh. I'm so glad you are my grandad. If I had another grandad I would tell him to go away and come and find you.' She is 14 smile

I smiled when I woke up (quite late) and remembered that I had nothing in particular to do today, and saw it was a beautiful, bright day smile

Coolgran65 Mon 16-Mar-15 17:11:21

I smiled when at the post office sending a story book that makes lots of noise and an M & S egg cup with a little choccy egg in it...... off to west coast USA to my 18 month dgs for Easter.

I'll also smile later when I see ds and dgs on Skype tonight.

(Smile slipped a little when PO asked for £11 postage.

Teetime reminded me that I also smiled when my friend told us that as she will be 80 soon she will be able to treat us to lunch when she gets her extra 25p per week! We estimated that if she saves it all up she should have enough by 2025!

Katek Mon 16-Mar-15 17:10:29

I also smiled today because there were no odd socks left over after I'd done the washing.

I smiled today just reading all the smiley notes, thank you. I also smiled at the shop assistants who are always so nice to me.

I'm smiling too because 19 of us in my WI lunch club have just had a lovely lunch in a quirky pub with lots of chat and laughter. AND I had a glass of wine AND a starter and a main AND a pud. AND I don't feel guilty! (Just full) grin
