Spain considering this measure!. Heaven help British holiday-makers!

That measure's a bit too far, but I do think more needs to be done about drunks rolling about out on the streets causing trouble. It used to be an offence that you were locked up for. When did that change?

Sounds alright to me! What's good about endangering yourself by being drunk? Not fair on drivers either.

Similar to the American law about j(jay) walking.

The article also mentions walking whilst texting. I'd approve that one, when I used to regularly travel in the course of my job, all too frequently I would see people walking down busy streets in cities with their eyes glued to their phones, causing a problem with the pedestrian "flow".

That's staggering news.

grin Knowsley

When my arthritis is bad I stagger about until I get going. Will we be able to carry a little card saying wonky knees do you think?

grin I would need one of those, too.

Drunk in charge of a zimmer frame?

Surely they have a "drunk and disorderly"-type law - wouldn't that cover staggering about in the road/behaving dangerously?
