kitty dear, you were far too early this morning. I am not at all good when leaving my comfortable, warm bed. MacS is a dear. He understands that the cocktail of medication I need to take in the evenings, zonks me out flat for the entire night and a wee bit of the morning too. Mind you, if I must make an early start to the day, I'm ready, willing and able.

Lona Your granddaughter must love spending time with you. I understand that Peppa pig is very popular. Whenever we were caring for Torben, he asked for Thomas the Tank Engine. Chicken Pox can be miserable. The itching gets worse before the spots finally disappear. In my childhood we had pink stuff smothered over us. Calomine? lotion (I seem to recall.) I hope that she's better very soon.

Anya WOW! What a super outcome. Sox must have experienced a tough time since his disappearance. I'm going to report back to MacS right this minute. Bravo! I would love to be there when Sox is finally back in his owner's arms.

I have darling daughter and her two little imps Angels staying at the moment. My normally tidy lounge looks like the 'wreck of the Hesperus' as my granny would have said.

Soop just got off the phone to the vet. Spoke to the senior veterinary nurse. Sox's (yes, that's his name) owners are coming to pick him up any time soon. They've been away on holiday, this being half term. They would have come back yesterday, so pleased were they that's he'd been found but the vet said not to cut their holiday short as Sox (or Socks?) would benefit from a second night at the practice.

He's responding well to antibiotics, been flea treated, wormed and brushed. Apparently he's loving the fuss!!!

But the amazing bit is he's been missing since New Years Eve and they'd given up hope of him coming home.

Some children sail through chickenpox and with luck your DGD will be one of them Lona. I hope you've had it!

Poxclin mousse is the one. It helped enormously. There is also something called Varisoothe but haven't tried that. Good luck, poor little thing.

Sympathies to your DGD Lona! Hope she feels better soon. When my DGSs had it DD had a wonderful lotion which didn't exist in our day and really made a difference. Do you know which one I mean? Will try to Google it unless anybody comes up with a name first.

My dgd has chicken pox so I'm having her overnight again! I'm having a lovely time with her this week and I can recommend Peppa pig dominoes for lots of yelling and 'knocking'!

Good morning! I thought I'd pop in before my day gets busy but there's no one here!

I've put the coffee on and boiled the kettle for anyone who comes later. . I've also brought. CD player and put on a CD of Calamity Jane as we went to see Jodi Prenger in the title role yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it! Please feel free to turn the player off if musicals aren't your thing!

Find the photo you want to send. Hold your finger into it for a couple of seconds. It will through up the options send; post to facebook; download or delete. Choose your option.

There are other ways but that's the simplest way.

I haven't heard from the vet yet re Kitty's owners. I did leave my phone number and will ring tomorrow if I haven't heard anything.

I can only blow five notes sounds so far, so my choice is very limited Jane but it has driven me back to practising my piano, which is much more rewarding.

I wonder if the owners turned up?

Anya I do hope you didn't choose that book especially for the tunes in it. I have the most dreadful memories of my mother learning the guitar, and playing 'She'll be coming round the mountain' over and over and over again, at a pace that would embarrass a snail. But we all have to start somewhere. When you can manage it, Bless this house will be very appropriate for Soop's new Kitchen.

Soop no matter how much energy I had, it would never be enough to tidy my kitchen cupboards out! I am a gardener - we always find the energy to do what we really want to do, and I prefer to be outside where I can't see my dirty house!

soop believe you me, you would go screaming out of the door if you saw a photo of me! I do have photos of Tara on my Kindle HD Fire but I have not got a clue how to transfer them on to this computer. Tara manages to turn her head away at the right moment, but she is a diva.

My daughter is getting married this year, too, in September. They've been together 11 years and called the first wedding off when they learned their twins would be due a couple of months after the wedding day. Good job they did as the babies came very early. This time, the plans aren't likely to come unstuck and they now have two little flower girls to join in.

I felt that I should tidy the kitchen cupboards earlier this afternoon. At one point I thought...this is madness. However, I kept on until the final shelf had been cleared and wiped and felt almost "holy" . I filled a bag of stuff that needs to be binned. MacSporran suggested that he rootled through the bag (just in case.) Anyway, whatever doesn't finish up back on the shelf is a goner.

The handbrake cable on the car has snapped. It has to be repaired before we travel the 130 odd mile round trip to Oban hospital next week.

The clouds are voluminous and tinged with dusty pink. The sea looks lovely but the islands appear mist-clad.

Enjoy your evening. I shall return to catch up with you all tomorrow. I'm looking forward to hearing that the rescued cat has at long last been reunited with his family. It's good to close on an upbeat note.

Charleygirl The weather here has been a mixed bag of tricks...some sunshine...some hail...some blustery cold wind. Have you a photo that you can share with us? I would like to see the new hairstyle.

I enjoy the view of the sea from the kitchen, even when the weather is stormy.

The weather in London is yuck today, heavy rain. Naturally that is because I had a hair appointment. It is nice to have shorter hair again.

Well, goodness gracious me. Hasn't there been a lot of coming and going and chortling and such. You wouldn't believe how uplifting it is (for me) to pop into our kitchen and catch up with you lot.

Anya please let us know when the lost pussy cat has been reclaimed and taken back to where he belongs. I've really enjoyed the fact that you have helped to bring a reunion about. The owners will be delighted. You can play your trumpet whenever the mood takes you. Us lot like to be entertained.

jane If I could achieve a fraction of what you've been up to I would be thrilled beyond measure. Ten years ago I was fit (in the proper sense of the word) - those days are a distant memory, and I feel that I've lost an important aspect of my former self. I imagine that there are many Granspals who feel likewise.

Soutra We both have a wedding to look forward to. My granddaughter is to be married in May. for you.

Crafting The X is for extra. As time goes by and we need to re-open the kitchen we can simply add an extra X The kitchen remains the same...as do the furnishings, view and virtually calorie-free refreshments. We shall remain open to all who wish to relax and enjoy the companionship that we have been lucky enough to share. There is only one rule...no arguments. There is more than enough discord in the "real world" from which we can escape from time to time.

It is especially nice loopylou as this is the DD who lost her first baby at 14 weeks pregnancy in the Autumn.
(I know people have eyes only for the bride at weddings -but those wedding pictures are a constant reminder! )
