When I saw him I felt an indescribable flood of emotion, a bit like a fix of heroin perhaps, I don't know. The only other time I've ever felt like that was when an ex-girlfriend turned up on the doorstep unexpectedly one Sunday afternoon.

crun water is supposed to symbolise emotion in dreams. I hope the bath water was warm and you felt comfortable.
I did once dream about my Gran who was very dear to me. I was very upset that I had forgotten to visit her then I woke up and remembered why I hadn't been to see her- she'd been dead for 30 years.

Just after my father died I had a dream that I was sat in the bath with the bathroom door wide open. I looked out onto the landing, saw him standing there, and said "I thought you were dead". Then I woke up.

I sometimes dream about members of my family who have died. Its so nice to see them again! I wake up all happy.

I do dream a lot about one particular boyfriend I had at school. Often wonder what became of him, although I heard from another school friend he was gay! Hope it wasn't anything I did!

This morning I was fast asleep dreaming about my old office and taking a parcel to the post room and having a complicated discussion re the parcel with the post room lady. In my dream someone had put in their two penneth on the way to the post room and kept shouting something after me to make sure I told the post lady (can't remember what now). While talking to the post lady I felt this person prodding me in the back and tapping me on the arm through the door. I thought 'How Rude - I am adamant that I am going to ignore them' and I refused to respond.

The next thing my husband was leaning over me shaking me like mad, saying I thought your were dead, I have been prodding and shaking you, trying to wake you for the past five minutes! We had a good laugh.

I often used to have the toilet dream - rarely now though. It seems to be quite a common theme here.

I also used to have the trying to get to work dream where the bus is late, the tube breaks down, it's 3p.m. and I still haven't got to work!

When I was much younger, I had a dream where I kept finding coins and picking them up (sounds very mercenary)

Dreaming so vividly that my granddad was still alive (even though at the back of my mind I knew he had died).

I don't dream that much now.

I was enjoying reading this thread, many posts are really interesting. You reminded me Falconbird of DD2 when she was around the age of eleven to fourteen she sometimes had predictive dreams. Small things such as dreaming of someone in class asking to borrow her pencil. One night when she was 14 she told me how the night before she had a dream about a boy at school with a battered and very red face. The next day was my day off and I picked her from school. When she got in the car she said she had the strangest day. She was talking to her friends and she looked up and saw the boy she had dreamt about. He had been bashed by another boy and his face was red and battered. She said she hadn't seen what happened as she was sitting talking with her friends, but as she looked up she saw exactly what she had dreamt two nights before.

She often talked about her dreams and said the ones which later happened were like commercials, they would interrupt a normal dream, then the normal dream would continue on.

I had one amazing dream about my youngest GS just before he was born seven years ago, other than that I hardly remember my dreams anymore.

That's it absent! Couldn't remember.....

Exams have usually figured in my worst dreams, and yet I was the kind of student who rarely worried about exams. However, there was one paper in my finals that still sends shivers up my back because I realised as soon as I looked at the paper that I hadn't done enough work for it. Luckily there were eight other papers.

I had a predictive dream when I was at school.

I was sitting in the classroom when a teacher appeared in the corridor outside tapping on the glass. The next day that very same teacher appeared and did tap on the glass, which was an unusual thing to do.

It was a very simple vision of the future and I know it sounds a bit daft, but it was extremely unusual for that teacher to visit our classroom.

Reading that list absent I'm surprised you're not exhausted!
I have a recurring dream of teetering on a sheer drop that I have to climb down (I hate heights!), or climbing stairs like those in a picture (don't know who drew it) where the stairs go nowhere, getting more and more desperate.
The toilet one happens too but I'm in an open space and not perturbed by it (and no, I'm certainly not an exhibitionist, and hate being the centre of attention or having my photo taken)

Crun it's all very well for you guys having a quick wee behind some rotting veg, we ladies have to lower our drawers and sort of pull them to the side so that we don't wet ourselves.

Also we are hoping no one watches us with a bare behind!

I still sometimes dream I am sitting an exam usually a nursing one, when I prepare to write my answers, with a fountain pen, the paper turns into a bath towel which absorbs the ink

I don't need to dream about that, it was the story of my cycle touring career. Riding frantically through a large built up area trying to get out before it's too late, turning up at Shepton Mallet loos and finding they're closed, peeing behind a skipload of rotten veg in Doncaster marketplace etc etc. York council have recently closed every loo in the city bar one which costs about 40p, but they all still marked on the street maps.

The worst is cycling for ages looking for somewhere to pee, and then getting a puncture......

Speaking of toilets that don't work, I once travelled all the way from Macclesfield to Euston sitting on the floor outside the door of a toilet that was blocked and overflowing. It was still getting topped up every few minutes, though.

When I was teaching I always had the "first day of term" anxiety dream where I got up late, car broke down, couldn't find the register, etc. I always felt I'd done the day before I even got up - exhausting! I now get it if I'm going on a trip. I also get the "toilet" dream where the only available toilet is not plumbed in or has no door. I thought it was just your brain stopping you wetting the bed. I often dream of owning a house with hidden rooms - I guess that's got to be a sign of something unfulfilled or perhaps a buried secret. I'm scaring myself now!

I sometimes have predictive dreams. Not very useful ones though. In one I dreamt about being in a boat and looking down and seeing a killer whale. I wasn't scared just interested. Next day a killer whale was spotted in the Firth of Forth (near us). Another time I dreamt that Catherine Cookson had died. I hadn't even thought about her for decades. Again, opened the paper and found that she'd died (of old age, nothing sinister). So sometimes I just dream news items!
I read that the emotions experienced in dreams are the key thing rather than what actually happened. I also dream about searching for toilets but never find ones that work! Stress ++ I reckon.

rarely remember dreams but last nights is still vivid. I dreamt that all my teeth fell out, I was spitting out teeth and bits of jaw, didn't bother me much, dentist said I could have false teeth if I wanted them.
So what could this mean. ?

Further to my post on Wednesday. I picked DGS up from school yesterday and we passed some horse riders on the way home.
My dream last night involved.........horses !

I have always had spectacular dreams, some recurring and, on at least one occasion, a serial dream where there was a new episode each night for an entire week. To my disappointment, I never dreamed the finale. However, I am currently using nicotine patches with a view to giving up smoking, again, and the dreams are beyond description. The last one involved loads of computers, spilt chicken stock, someone wanting to print out a seed catalogue, my dead parents, a gazebo, a lecture on the inadequacy of the Kalashnikov as a sniper weapon and a very loud goat… Better than an acid trip!

I dream vividly and sometimes have really upsetting dreams where I wake up feeling afraid. This happened a few weeks ago and I had about 3 in the one week. On awakening I could remember them vividly and they stayed with me all day. Now, I can't remember what they were about but I can still recall the feeling of upset and fear.

Dreaming of flying is supposed to represent sexuality. I used to dream of flying when I was in my early teens so maybe it is true - but at the time it felt more as though it represented freedom and the ability to go where I wished and do what I wanted.

I reckon that dreams are ways of reviewing the things that are bothering you at the time and making sense of them. The "stories" are symbolic ones. It is way you feel about the events in your dream while they are happening that give the you the meaning.

The toilet-in-public dreams probably mean a secret fear of having your weaknesses and imperfections revealed. A lot of people seem to have them.

When I was a kid I used to dream that my feet got stuck to the ground as I was crossing the road, and I'd wake up as the lorry hit me.

A couple of years ago I was on Metronidazole, which causes surreal dreams. Some of those were quite good fun.
