There are plenty of Gransnetters whose username begins with A. I certainly didn't assume it might be you who wrote the PM. No assumptions necessary - the style of the PM is recognisable.

I'd assume that the 'bootlicker' wouldn't have a clue who she/he was anyway, just from the content of the PM in the OP.

anno I think we can safely assume that the person described as a 'bootlicker' need not feel uncomfortable, but has been wrongly slagged off by someone whose judgement is questionable.

petallus, there are only three people who might be feeling uncomfortable about this thread:

the person described, unkindly, as a 'bootlicker';
the person who sent the message to Soutra in error;
and the person for whom the message was really intended. The rest of us are just interested - and mildly amused - bystanders.
