I was listening to Radio 4 yesterday and there was an extraordinary programme about S Wales (MCAT: the Scourge of the Valleys) where apparently there is a huge problem with a particular Class B drug (MCAT) which is being widely used instead of alcohol by young people.
It was very sad, but the most shocking thing is the deliberate targeting of primary school children - yes primary school! There were people pushing it over the school fence apparently - children were getting hooked on it and were paying for the drug with sexual favours. It seemed almost unbelievable and, as a school governor, made me think a lot about safeguarding.
It is so very terrible that such unscrupulous people can be out there to prey on such young children.
