Judy Finnigan

As a big fan of Richard and Judy, and in particular Judy, I feel sorry for her and all women who are picked on by the media and shown in an unkind way. The press are so cruel at times.

Years ago in Manchester before she met RM, she was very often found in the medias favourite drinking den bar.

Perhaps she's scared (of surgery) and who's to blame her? I wouldn't go under the knife for anything that wasn't absolutely essential, would you?

She always said she would never have anything done. I read an article a few years ago that said that in real life she is far prettier, the camera is not kind to her.

A 'fine tremor', causing shaky hands, can start for no reason at all.

If Judy was 'often found in the media's favourite bar' then I guess a lot of other people must have been there too (it being their favourite).

Why join the present media in picking on Judy?

I wish the media would stop following Judy around when she's merely going about her private life.

I used to watch Richard and Judy when they presented their afternoon show, particularly loved the book club slot. I don't watch tv during the day, but Judy Finnigan would always be my preferred choice of presenter over the Holly Willoughbys of this world, she has so much more gravitas than some of the fluffy headed doughnuts around at the moment.

A friend has had a tremor of the hands for years, since she was a very young woman. As far as I know she drinks very little (less than me, anyway).

There were rumours that she was a drinker because of the shaking hands. However, I suffer quite badly with my nerves and sometimes my hands shake terribly - nothing to do with drinking.

My grandmother's hands shook for all the many years I knew her. Nobody knew why. Parkinsons was ruled out and she only drank the occasional glass of sherry on special occasions. She was clever, stoical, hard working and had a great sense of humour. She lived to be 96!!

Poor Judy, I remember an awards ceremony a few years back when her blouse fell open and completely exposed her "front". How embarrassing for her.

My SIL has had essential tremor all the time I have known him, it is quite pronounced in his hands. This condition runs in families so perhaps that is what your grandmother had merlot.

I agree - good for her. It seems that it's expected that women in media are expected to conform to an image of being young and beautiful and if they dare to look 'real', they are pounced on - something MUST be wrong with them. She's middle-aged, that's all - not all of us are sylph-like and glam.

I've seen photo's of Twiggy out shopping that made her look ancient and haggard, yet when I met her at a book signing she looked lovely. Her skin was a little dry, which she admitted herself, but she certainly wasn't the raddled old bag lady some of the press had tried to make out.

Could be, harrigran although nobody in the family seems to have inherited it thank goodness.

Older celebs who wear bucket loads of make up when fronting TV programmes must dread being snapped without it.

Judy is a wrinkly old thing - and none the worse for that. If she does her job well, then that is fine.

Because I think George Cloony's wife is a very attractive woman I read an article about her appearance at the Oscars ceremony. It transpired she used a makeup artist who said she used 18 products to produce the look.I think Judy Finnegan and indeed most of us would look attractive if we went through that routine every day.

Twiggy is the new face of L'oreal apparently. Sorry to move away from Judy.

Definitely the 'light' in which a photo's taken makes a huge difference- my university security card photo is the worse I've ever seen (even with full makeup!)

My friend and I were in fits of laughter at the bus stop comparing our ghastly bus pass photos.

Some people aren't photogenic. Someone I know saw Cheri Blair in London and she was really lovely looking and very petite.

I think Joanna Lumley is great and has the right sort of look for the older woman.

I wonder if Judy and her husband want to be papped to try and help out their daughter's career?
Chloe sure does a lot of selfies.

Is that a serious suggestion soon?
