Ok so I'm obviously losing the plot but I was thinking about what type of friends foods would be.

Milk chocolate would be that friend who you love to spend time with but you wouldn't trust. Up for a laugh, witty, clever, bitchy. OK in small doses but see her too often and you start to feel sick and tired.

Dark chocolate is a handsome but brittle man who you're not sure of. Sometimes he's nice but other times he leaves a bitter taste in your mouth when you've been out with him.

Chicken is the fit friend who likes to work out every day and jogs every evening in her bright pink lycra shorts. She's always nagging you to join her but you know you couldn't possibly keep up.

Beef is still quite fit but would rather go for a good long walk that overdo it at the gym. You go with her when you feel like it but she strides out too much when you'd rather have a gentle wander.

Bacon is a couch potato. She's great when you want to chill out with a movie.

Lettuce is a real friend. She's bland and boring to some extent but she's always glad to see you. She'll do her best to help you if you need it and, even if you haven't bothered to keep in touch for a while, she'll welcome you back with open arms and never chide you.

Yes I know I need to get a life grin

Bread is the enemy - its lovely and smells nice and makes you want to eat more and more - then it gives you a big bloated tummy. sad

Beans are pleasant enough company, but you dont want to spend too long in their company if you know what I mean.

I was going to say the same about lentils, soontobe.

We had both yesterday!

Potatoes are a friend who brings you comfort whenever you need it.

Lettuce is being a bit chilly, can't be bothered with her at the moment.

We're having a warm comforting friend to dinner tonight.
Tatie pie with pickled onions grin

Our French friend is calling tonight - boeuf bourguignon. He's a bit chilly because he has been in the freezer for a month grin

Yes, I need to get a life too!

Cheese is the friend you always meet with when you need a warm hug, and another, and another..........until you need to get away! Then you vow not to see them for a while!

Lona grin

I saw cheese coming at lunch-time but managed to avoid her.

I've been giving her the cold shoulder grin (in the freezer)

Thick vegetable soup is the best, most reliable friend. Warm, comforting and doesn't make you fat.

Nuts, of course, are like everyone on this thread grin
