Well that is it. Meat prepared and cooked for Boxing Day. All shopping done. Gingerbread House finished. Biscuits made. Cake iced. Puddings on stand-by.

Just about to have a long soak. Nothing to drink until this evening, as over-did it a bit on Sunday - going to sisters for meal. Not sure what to wear - must have a look. Love dressing up!!

So the best seasons greetings to you all and have a good one whatever your circumstances.

from Whitewave near Brighton on the Downs.

Putting feet up after a day of prepping vegetables, making nut roast, trifle, sherry sauce, cranberry sauce, OH making stuffing, sorting out Turkey etc. now having our glass of bubbly ( it is our wedding anniversary!) waiting for youngest DS to arrive, then the hordes tomorrow.

Lona Wed 24-Dec-14 17:38:57

Feet up for me too, with the carols from Kings and a cuppa.

While we watched Santa fly over in Oxfordshire DGC were watching it in York, a moment that brought us all together, even though we are 200 miles apart for Christmas this year, although they are come to stay for the New Year.

The tomorrow's meal is prepared, except for sprouts and parsnips that will be harvested from the garden tomorrow morning. We are now relaxing with a wine and a mince pie. DD will arrive around 9.00pm and then we will know that another family Christmas has started.

A very happy Christmas to all Gransnetters and peace and consolation to those for whom this will not be their best Christmas ever.

Darling daughter and SIL with gds are coming on Boxing Day afternoon. Il have to make a Graggy cake tomorrow ( banana cake to you)
Just hope my ankles will stand up to it!

Crafting Wed 24-Dec-14 21:33:58

tchhmm. I am sitting here with a swollen ankle at the moment. Not sure what I have done. I've been ok most of the day but been standing in the kitchen preparing for tomorrow and now I have suddenly realised that I have one very painful huge ankle! I just hope it is ok tomorrow as I am cooking Christmas dinner for the family. Ice pack and a glas of brandy should do the trick tchgrin

Galen Wed 24-Dec-14 22:08:53

Welcome to the painful ankle club!
Both of mine are swollen and painful.
I think they're slightly better than yesterday though?
Here's hoping for tomorrow.

baubles Wed 24-Dec-14 22:31:26

Hope all the ankles are back to normal in the morning.

Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Well in just over half an hour it will be Christmas Day. I know not everyone can be with loved ones today and you will be in my thoughts.

Well, I've gone and cooked me goose. Literally, not metaphorically. tchsmile

grannyactivist Thu 25-Dec-14 00:35:20

Galen - put your feet up and let yourself be waited on and enjoy it.

Anne58 Thu 25-Dec-14 00:52:33

Much love to all, especially those GN members that made Christmas 2013 so much better than it would have been.

Agus Thu 25-Dec-14 01:02:10

tchsmile Merry Christmas and best wishes to all tchsmile

Crafting Thu 25-Dec-14 09:22:19

Hope your ankles are better today Galen. The swelling has gone down a bit on mine but still puffy. Trying to sit with my foot up as much as possible but not easy with the dinner to prepare. Merry Christmas to all my fellow GN. tchsmile.
