I think my vacuum was trying to phone for help

My Roomba is scheduled to vacuum all of downstairs on a Friday morning at 7 am before I get up (it is so luxurious to lie in bed listening). Usually I make sure that all the doors are wide open so that it can get from room to room, but after being out yesterday I forgot, so some of them were only just ajar.

I heard it rumbling about, then it went quiet. I thought it had finished so I went back to sleep. When I got up at 9.30 ish, the phone screen was blank. I picked up the handscreen and read the message that came up on the window "No link. Reconnect AC adaptor" Odd.

Checked the connections. Must add here that there is a main base, plus 3 more handsets on bases in different rooms, each connected to the mains. All the connections seemed OK.

However, Roomba was in the study, with the door closed, wandering about in a daze with a red light showing that the battery charge was almost out. It must have pushed the door enough to get in, then bumped it closed as it swept. Carried it tenderly out into the hall to its docking station where it settled down to recharge.

Used mobile to phone virgin Media to check if there were any faults. No. Looked online, no mention of outages. Decided to have breakfast before doing any more. After breakfast logged into Gransnet for some light relief. Chaos there. Decided it must have been some electrical problem overnight.

Glanced down at the extension into which the laptop, lamp, main phone base etc are plugged - it was switched off. I NEVER switch that off. It is on the floor. Roomba must have rolled over it while vacuuming and turned it off. It has NEVER done that before. I reckon it wanted to alert me to come and rescue it.
