Thank you G Netters for your good wishes. We had a lovely day out at Trelissick near Falmouth. The house was decorated for Christmas and we had lunch and a lovely walk around the gardens. There was a surprising amount of colour in the garden with rhododendrons and camellias in flower.

Happy birthday rubysong flowers and good morning everyone.
Lovely here in mid Essex - mild and lots of sunshine though very wet overnight.
I envy all of you who are looking after grandchildren today. Mine are grown up now (and one has a child herself). I used to love having them in spite of the noise and mess.

Good news is that the Christmas tree is still upright this morning! I put it up last night and as it had been outside for a couple of days it was of course soaking wet. As it had a log 'slice' at the bottom I had hoped this job would be easy - no such luck, as despite all my hammering, bashing it down on the ground the damned thing would just fall over. Then to find a suitable bucket and out into the garden with a torch hunting for bricks and large stones, which were duly bashed in place. It still didn't seem very stable, so I have anchored it to the bookshelves with festive guy ropes. What I thought would be a 5 minute job turned into a couple of hours. This morning I need to clean the wall, windows and carpet where it wreaked its trail of piny devastation. tchgrin

Good morning all. I haven't looked at the weather yet but I think it is dry in Cornwall. DH taking me out for the day as it is my birthday. We are going to a National Trust house to see the decorations and have lunch.

Good morning, warm and still here this morning after a windy wet night. Forecast is a bright day, so washing on. Was hoping to go to play a bit of bowls this morning, but the dear one says he is not interested - he is getting a bit like that recently, I think it is the time of year, but I am a very fed up with keep chivvying him along all the time - perhaps I should just let him sit in the chair all day? Very bad for one at our age! Enjoy your days.

Good morning all. Ditto rain in Stockport. Last evening was awful, lashing rain and wind. On my my 4am loo visit I glanced out and the sky was clear and a few stars so I hoped for a better day. No such luck.

Kiora Fri 19-Dec-14 08:22:51

Morning michael been raining here in Kent but very mild. Three under 6 excited grandchildren today. I will be worn out but well loved by this evening. The housework will have to wait again. Got a lie in this morning husband was able to put his own socks and underpants on. Looking up during that process was a bit much at 5.30 in the morning. tchwink

Good morning all. Like previous posters it's been very wet and windy here in East Sussex. Now it's wet and calm.
This morning it's off to the Dental hygienist to make sure teeth are sparkling before next weeks operation. Then it's last minute shopping just in case there is not enough food in before family arrive tomorrow. The joy of small voices much too early for the next few days. tchgrin

It was windy last night but now not so bad the rain has eased too.

School broke up yesterday so we have both DGS today.
