Comfy bras?

Ha ha Hilda. How silly of her. I'm lucky enough to be small. Awful when I was young, cotton wool helping out before padded bras were invented, just means I can't wear low necklines , or I can but little cleavage on show.

We're all Grannies here and our days of breastfeeding are long gone. Stop advertising to the wrong market!

I love to wear some bra which is comfortable and while I am breastfeeding, I don't have to remove it. And also bra cups that include flaps which can be opened with one hand to expose the nipple. I got those bras from online once, I really love it, the place, think some Spicy Lingerie, am!! My friend suggested to me, I think. Yeah its Spicy Lingerie. I love the bra from there.

I've tried those stretchy step-in bras, called AaH Bras. Hopeless, no separation or support and after a while they dig in round your middle just as much as ordinary bras. I find M and S bras hopeless, I've never bought one from there that fitted properly even after the 'fitter' ran her tape measure over me. I've been fitted in Debenhams, too, and still not got a bra that was comfortable. At the mo I wear a Triumph underwired one which is bearable until about tea time when I have to take it off and go bra-less, not a particularly pretty sight but it's too bad. I have an elderly friend who never ever wears a bra and is proud of it but I'm sorry to say she looks rather round shouldered and droopy, not a good look although I admire her for taking a stand. I don't know what the answer is but I'll try that link.

MrsMopp I am at this very moment wearing a stretchy bra which I stepped into his morning and pulled up. It is made by M & Co has soft circular padding in each cup is a nice bluey grey colour and cost me £8.50 in the sale.

Having said that I am a 38 B cup so I don't have much to hold up. But it is comfy.

I like Miss Mary of Sweden. Good variety, reasonable prices. Fit for me is extremely good though I do prefer wired. The cup size is good too - no bulging! I buy online and service is fine.

Never heard of these but they are worth checking up.

Just looked at the pics and that is rather a bit too much plunge for me! Although I do see is says "Triumph have developed a range of bras" (with this technology).

I had heard about a new Magic Wire bra so I googled it and this came up:

One of my daughters sensibly bought her wedding dress in a sale then treated herself to a bra from Rigby and Pellor to wear on her wedding day. It cost more than the dress!
I do envy thin friends, who don't appear to wear bras at all. I've never ever had a comfortable one.

And, seriously, the wires dig into the scarring and it is still, ten years on, uncomfortable.

I quite agree rosequartz. I have enough padding of my own without buying any more.

I still think you cant beat being properly measured and fitted. Some of the larger stores do this but small lingerie shops do as well. A few years ago my sister and I went up to Rigby and Peller in London where they fit you 'be eye' no tape measure involved it was amazing although so were the prices. I feel as I get older that wires and some padding are essential to give a proper shape and lift rather than that big wide cushion located just above their navel you see on so many older women.

I think M&S do their own version of the 'Doreen' bra, or something similar, which could be a bit cheaper.

I wear Doreens - they are made by Triumph. You can get them cheaper on ebay, but beware - some companies use the word Doreen as a sales ploy, when they are not the genuine article.

My Mum was called Doreen - ironically she was by nature a bra burner!

Try "Doreen" bras. I cannot remember who makes them. They can be pricey but some shops do them a lot cheaper than the company. Try on line- they are not underwired or padded, my two pet hates.

Comfy bras - a contradiction in terms I feel!

Last time this topic came up, I said I'd tried those bras, but, being well endowed (even with bits missing, which is why I can't do under wired ones) I found they created a droopy shelf like effect, which was truly awful. I just wear the old M&S popular firm control ones most of the time, and they are fine, if not attractive.
