Another odd phenomenon

No I dont think it sounds mad.
I do feel I am missing out a bit on something though.

Don't get confused with auras, I have had enough of that from my family! I just meet a person and instantly a colour pops into my head. I think it's their personality. As I get to know them better occasionally the shade shifts a bit. I only know one yellow, I really hate it if she wears some pinks because the yellow is superimposed on her. It sounds mad, doesn't it.

It is like a whole other world going on that I know nothing at all about.

Do the colours have any resemblance to their behaviour at all?
Do their colours change as they mature?

I see people as colours. I know what colour/s I want them to wear in which shade, if they don't I feel a bit jarred, especially if it clashes with the colour I see them as. I'm not going by what colour suits them, either. It just feels wrong for them.

Interesting that you all dont see to see the synesthesia in the same way. I would have thought you would have done.

I'm surprised so many people on GN have synaesthesia. It makes me feel very boring and ordinary!

My year is oval, like a rugby ball. Winter at the bottom, summer at the top. At the moment we're in December which is at the bottom right, January and February are at the bottom March bottom left as the curve comes up into a wonderful stretched out summer. Weeks are wavier with the weekends lifting up.

Sunday is red, Monday dark red, Tuesday orange, Wednesday light green, Thursday dark green, Friday brown, Saturday light brown.

I have thought of the days of the week in colours since I was a child, and no one else seemed to do this so never mentioned it much. Glad I am not mad after all!

synesthesia

Monday pink, Tuesday orange, Wednesday green, Thursday light brown, Friday dark brown, Saturday purple and green, Sunday black.

My year is a circle with December at the bottom, then January going clockwise upwards, May June July at the top, beginning to go down to August and down again to December. Quite similar to Nightowl really. The months are not at all equal in length. Weeks go round in a sort of stretched out circle. Numbers 1-10 up diagonally to the right, then at another angle up to 20, then a distinct left hand angle up to 100, then another angle up to infinity!

I think this is a mild case of synasthesia; I am fascinated by people who see musical keys in different colours.

Numbers have colours:

0 black
1 brown
2 red
3 orange
4 yellow
5 green
6 blue
7 violet
8 grey
9 white

It's not synaesthesia, it's the resistor colour code.

I get photo sensitive sneezing, but I don't think that's regarded as a form of synaesthesia. The RAF test recruits for it, we can't have pilots having sneezing fits when they fly toward the sun.

Clearly am neither creative or on the same wavelength , perhaps I should be relieved?

What the heck are all you lot on about?

I see numbers in a 3 D shape, in layers - a bit like an extended 3D noughts and crosses board. Units in one level, 10s on another, 100s on another and so on. All the zeros, 0, 00, 000 etc occupy their own narrow tower.
So adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, etc are much easier as they're all laid out in this pattern.

I also see individual letters as colours, M is red, A is yellow etc. I remember trying to explain all this to people when I was a child and just being given odd looks.

Oh whitewave how interesting. My months go in a sort of curved line with a jump between December and January, so at the moment I'm somewhere bottom right then I jump up to January again. Then I go along upwards to March, sort of wiggly through the summer, then start curving down. Numbers follow a sort of straight vertical line downwards, then a skewed clock face to 12, then a kind of spiral flattening out around 50, then upwards to 60 (until as I said I start to drop off the imaginary page....)

Just asked OH if he has anything like that but he said not. Must asked more people!

Oh yes nightowl I see the year in a reverse clock order so at the moment December is at about 7pm with January at 6pm! Odd isn't it?

That's an interesting link baubles. I don't have the colour synesthesia but I do have the 'spacial sequence synesthesia' thing where I see days of the week, months and numbers in a precise pattern and location. I never thought anything of it until I read this. As I'm getting older the number bit, applied to age, gets a bit alarming because 60 to 100 are all quite bunched up (always have been) and then they just kind of fall off the end.....!

The bigger numbers have always had a different location but I don't expect they will ever apply to my age.

No, no - Monday is scarlet, Tuesday crimson, Wednesday yellow, Thursday blue, Friday black, Saturday yellow and Sunday blue!

I was just about to say that Phoenix!! Monday is pink, Tuesday, blue, Wednesday is yellow, Thursday , mauve and Friday is green. I don't have a colour for the weekend though!

I've read of this phenomenon before MiceElf. It has a name which I'll have to Google, I haven't experienced it but I think I would like to, it sounds fascinating.

Interesting post, but no, I dont get any of that either.
But I am not remotely creative, so perhaps that is why?
