McVities Adverts

The regular adverts featuring cute animals that McVities are using have always niggled me......the idea that all we need is food to make us happy is a worry...there is also the whole idea of getting a puppy or a kitten the cheer you up that I find problematic. Having a pet of any sort is a huge responsibility and, especially nowadays, quite expensive.
However, the new Christmas one has, I feel, gone a long way to undo the great work done by the 'A Dog is for Life' campaign.
I'm no 'Bah humbug' and do enjoy all things Christmassy (once we are into December) but this advert really hits a nerve and I do wish McVities would come up with another theme.

I never thought of it that way. I thought it was trying to put over that eating their biscuits made you feel warm inside like cuddling a kitten or puppy.

It's not an advert that appeals to me tbh.

Yes I think that might have been the idea behind it but for me, it just does not work. I just do not make a link between the two concepts....either one is hungry or one wants to cuddle a pet. It sort of makes the case for comfort eating which is never a good idea.

I hate the one with kittens coming out of the biscuit packet. It's weird!

I agree - weird! It puts me off the biscuits as they might now be hairy. confused
