Limerick writing Mark 4 (animal, vegetable and mineral)

Eye of newt worked for the witchy sisters.

The peas said 'its freezing in 'ere'

My chestnuts are boiling out there

So let's bring 'em in

And wrap 'em in tin.

And hurry off down to the fair.

I wish I was basking in sunshine

With a glass of ruby red wine.

(I am in fact drinking a very pleasant chilled sherry, which I think only old ladies drink now.

And cashews to pick at

Whilst wearing a sun hat.

And a gigolo just down the line.

But I'm here I 'm stuck with frozen toes

And a drip hanging off of my nose

My fingers are numb

and so is my bum

What more can add to my woes?

Bird feeders filled up to the brim

Jenny wren looking quite trim.

Worms are off the menu

Bugs are in the gateau.

The outlook is really quite grim.

'Look here', said the dog to the cat

Let's stop having this spat.

The pets called a truce

Tried hanging loose.....
