And Galen has a good sense of humour.

Oh, so that was you was it Ana? I do remember knocking someone out of the way when riding my MS in Tonbridge Wells the other day. Sorry, but the horn isn't working. You'll just have to move out of the way a bit faster in future.

Ana Mon 24-Nov-14 21:30:04

(Apologies to Galen and any other mobility scooter users - only joking...smile)

Ana Mon 24-Nov-14 21:28:26

And talking of bypasses, I agree with anniezzz about the silent cyclists, but the silent mobility scooters are just as bad!

They should be obliged by law to honk a horn when they intend to overtake an innocent, unwary pedestrian. angry

Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells

ooh grin

Ana Mon 24-Nov-14 21:24:58

Sense of humour bypass maybe, soontobe? grin

Why is the internet such a parallel universe?
Politics, religion, vegetarionism, cyclists, all discussed calmly in the lives of people I know. smile

I hate them too. It's only polite to ring your bell to warn a pedestrian that you are behind them and to thank someone if they step aside to let you through.

anniezzz09 Mon 24-Nov-14 20:51:23

I'm with you all the way vampire queen. I do like to feel the wind in my hair. My pet hate though is those cyclists who approach you silently from behind (hopefully on a shared path as opposed to a footpath) and then whizz by brushing your elbow and you gasp and think 'if I had just taken a step sideways...!'

I like cycling ducks behind sofa but I'm not a stupid cyclist. I follow the highway code, have good, bright lights to make sure I can be seen and wherever possible stick to cycle tracks. I never cycle on pavements and I ABSOLUTELY NEVER wear lycra. My bum in lycra shock. Now that would be a distraction....and not in a nice way grin

rosesarered Mon 24-Nov-14 20:10:13

Plus all that tight lycra is distracting to us.

POGS Mon 24-Nov-14 20:05:49

Get on yer bike annie grin

Riverwalk Mon 24-Nov-14 20:05:32

Pests, that's what I call them grin

Ana Mon 24-Nov-14 20:02:51

I cannot respect anyone's decision to be a cyclist (apart from jingl).

They just clutter up the streets and make it harder for us aggressive drivers to get to our destinations at breakneck speed!

anniezzz09 Mon 24-Nov-14 19:58:51

Sorry, joke! grin

I was just musing on the feisty thread Calling Vegetarians and thought this would be an equivalent. Post at your peril!
